Lol im on east coast so I had just started waking up as you posted this. Haven't watched it yet but how beautiful is the writing here? Unohana is legit giving my man Zaraki Senkai boosts lol. She is legit Killin this nigga and reviving/healing him over...and over and over again. Like she said, when he flirts with death by fighting on the edge like he loves go do he beging to unshackle his power he's been subconsciously suppressing. Fkn beautiful!

now that I watched the reacts i dont think ive seen you as speechless as during that battle LOL. gotta love it. Unohana dying the way she did was literally her entire lifes purpose, she explained it very poetically and beautifully. She lived for Zaraki...she lived until the day she can properly relinquish the TRUE title of Kenpachi to him. Shunsui already knew and understood this thats why he already knew one of them had to die, Shunsui is not only one of the oldest Captains but hes also one of the most intelligent. This arc is going to continue to blow you away with information like this, ontop of answer more questions that have been sprinkled into the story. everything really comes full circle. How do you feel about Bleach at this point in time? Honest opinion. Edit - After watching the ending, you dont even have to answer my last question. you spoke some beautiful words bro. I couldnt of said any of that any better. and im glad and me being an OG Bleach fan (watching it like 4 times all the way through now cuz of you lol) I appreciate someone who actually watched it BEYOND the surface level and sees how amazing and deep Bleach/Kubo really is. His way of writing really isnt like everyone elses which is why he was kind of shunned at the start of his career, he always carved his OWN path instead of following everyone elses who came before him. yea he might of drawn inspiration here and there from other anime/mangaka but he still stayed TRUE to himself and his path. Her bankai was left nebulous but it's still cool af to see in action. Imagine how we felt in the manga lol we were like....wtf....lost and confused lol now even though the battle was only half the episode, she was down there for days...killing him and reviving him so you could say she simply used all her power and didn't have the strength to heal from being stabbed. Still lame but it's my copium lol now the next episode is one of the most important in all TYBW as father and son finally have that heart to heart talk.

The Unohana reveal has been hinted at/foreshadowed since VERY early on in the series. 1. Everyone, even Captains as powerful as Shunsui and Ukitake are shown to be afraid of her (though this often played off for comedic relief). 2. Her other name, Retsu, means "violent" or fierce", hinting at her true nature. 3. In the SS arc, she is the first Captain to notice something is off about Aizen's death (even while under complete hypnosis). When she arrives in the Underground Meeting assembly area after Aizen waxes Hitsugaya, he acknowledges that he thought she would be showing up soon. 4. If you recall Kenpachi's backstory flashback from the SS arc, he tells Yachiru that he named her after the one person he admires and respects. The First Kenpachi, Unohana Yachiru is that person. 5. In Las Noches, Rudobonne chooses to back off and avoid fighting her once he sees her. 6. Even from the first databooks, her total combat ability score was 540/600, which is second only to Aizen and Yamamoto who both have a total of 560/600. Her special ability was also listed as kenjutsu, NOT healing.

Clarification on things -You were right on Kenpachi naming Yachiru after Unohana, in the SS arc Kenpachi tells Yachiru that she was named after the person he admired most. -Unohana was the first kenpachi, but our Kenpachi isn’t the second one to hold the title. Our Kenpachi is the eleventh person to carry the name, suggesting Unohana relinquished her title after their first battle. The man in the flashback where Kenpachi hears his zanpakuto’s voice was the tenth generation Kenpachi, whom was killed by him. -Unohana’s Bankai isn’t corrosive, but it’s rather a metaphor to show how Kenpachi’s freeing the shackles he put on himself. Her bankai seems to manipulate the blood around her as an extension of her sword, while also instantly healing her injuries.

Zaraki is the 11th Kenpachi. There have been 9 others excluding him and Unohana. Unfortunately, we only have information on 3 others. He didn't directly fight her for the title in the past, she chose to step down and be a healer after she realized he was the one worthy to eventually carry the name in the future. She was succeeded by whoever the 2nd Kenpachi was. Also, in the manga the Unohana v Kenpachi fight started BEFORE Ichigo and Renji's training and ended approximately the same time. That means Unohana was continually killing and reviving Kenpachi for 3 days straight lol.

You got me hyped to hit the gym tonight! Chest Day in honor of your 100 push-ups! For the longest time, these two eps here, I couldn't wait for you to get to them. I just knew you'd enjoy it and love Yachiru (Unohana) this version of her, especially knowing you already liked Kenpachi as a character. Now, I can't for you to get to a certain fight in the next cour! But until then...The final three episodes are really beautiful. I think you should watch all 3 to finish off cour 1 or do 1 ep and then do the final two. It's up to you bro. Btw, don't think I missed that line at the end "Bleach is top 10 for sure." I love how Kenpachi's story is literally baked into his outfit - he starts off with those goofy-ass bells that are literally a tell for his opponent, his lanky body and his nasty-ass old eyepatch, and every time you see him after a fight he loses one of those shackles and visibly grows.
