Hello again friends!

I hope you've been having a nice autumn Saturday so far!

I've got good news this week- I thought I was going to need more time to finish the script for the DLC but I somehow managed to finish the rough draft on Friday!

I'm pretty happy with how it all came out so far, but I'm sure it needs to be polished up LMAO

Next week I'm going to be going back over it and editing while I add in placeholder sketches for all the images I'll need to create.

I've been getting rather excited for it, because I'm going to try some experimental new techniques with the background elements and with the sprites.

Nearly all of the DLC will take place in one room with the same background, so I'm going to see how dynamic I can make it. I'm planning to make the background image very large so that I can pan the camera around, and I'm also planning to add a few mid-distance background elements [ the cameras 😏 ] separately over the background so I can do a parallax effect when I do pan the player's view around.

I'm also going to experiment with very mild/subtle animation for some elements.

And for the sprites, I'm going to do a very different approach as well. A lot of them are going to be more dynamic poses- more like how characters have been posed for CGs. This, combined with the dynamic background, may end up actually eliminating the need for CGs. I'm not really sure, but we'll see how things go!

I'm really looking forward to experimenting with this new approach! I think it will be fun, and hopefully feel immersive. I also want to experiment with it and get a feel for it for future projects!

But anyway, I think that's about all I have to say this week! It's a short and sweet text-only update I'm afraid! [ that's just how it goes with the writing phase 😂 ]

But hopefully next week I'll be able to show you some examples of how my placeholders are looking :D

Thank you guys so much for your support! I'm looking forward to next week's work!

Have a safe and fun weekend! <3
