CURRENT CG COMPLETION: 139/181

Hello again friends! It's time for updates!

Last week I got to enjoy a technical number jump of 5 CGs! I usually only get 2.5 done, but 3 of them were more like puzzle parts to a gently animated sequence and were very easy to produce!

I'm glad too, because I needed the mental boost of 'number go up fast brrr' last week x'D No specific real reason, just hormonal moodiness and tiredness, blah blah, you know how it is LMAO

But aside from that, I really can't complain! Just another good, simple week where I get to enjoy the grind. Oh! I also got to see my extended family for thanksgiving last weekend! [ Canadian thanksgiving is earlier ] I hadn't seen many of them at all since covid started so it was really nice! And my grandma was brave enough to enforce a 'vaccinated only' rule so that made me feel a lot more comfortable x'D [ numbers are awful in my province, Alberta is Canada's Texas RIP ]

Anyway! Enough about my shenanigans, let's get into what I got up to!

I created a small sequence that uses a recolor of an existing background with an additional foreground of new tree/underbrush art. The foreground art is separated into right and left sides so that I can have them pull to the side and reveal the background in a way that makes the player feel like they've moved forward. [ sorry it's all so dark LMAO it looks better in game when it's not against the white background of Patreon ]

That's why I got '"3 CGs" for such a cheap time price- the recoloured background and the left/right foreground pieces all count as separate CGs xD

However, I did need to do a bit of extra recolouring to make this sequence work.

I did this water thing just a little while ago, but I ONCE AGAIN made the mistake of not checking for context well enough, and I coloured it as if it was midday/real life. It's actually meant to be part of a more 'psychological' sequence so I recoloured it to match the other stuff I did this week. I also tweaked the timing of the animations involved to make everything just feel smoother and tighter. I'm quite happy with the sequence finally!

I also got some Celia CGs done this week too! It was one fully unique one and a variant of that. They're part of a sequence with a few more pics as well so I'll be working on the others soon :D

Not gonna lie, I'm quite pleased with the second one especially! I feel like I'm finally settling in to this new 'heavier realism' style more comfortably. I'm getting better at picking dynamic colours and maintaining some cartoonish bits where I want them. I certainly have a long way to go to get where I want but I'm feeling happier about my 'direction' if that makes sense? [ it's so hard to introduce heavy realism elements without making things look stiff and weird! ]

According to my graphs which dictate my every move, next week I'll be changing gears again back to Derek's path. I want to maintain the percentages as evenly as I can so every path will have some of my 'best' art by the end.

But if I get enough done we might get past the 75% mark for all paths next week! Exciting!

Phew, long update! But good update! I feel great about last week :D Thank you guys so much for your incredible support! See you next week! ^o^

Take care and stay safe! Have a wonderful weekend! <3
