Saturday Update! (Patreon)

Hello again folks! It's time for another update!

Not to pat myself on the ass too hard, but I think last week went really well! Work went very smoothly, even to the point of getting a bit of extra work done ^o^

My mental health has been pretty damn good and I feel like I got my mojo back. I also feel like I'm transitioning to a better place in my mourning process. I still get sad of course, but I'm noticing myself remembering happy memories more instead of replaying the traumatic stuff. I'm just feeling more at peace with my existence in general if that makes sense.

So all in all, good stuff to report! Let's get on with the art, shall we?

First up is a CG that is essentially a BG. I wanted an existing background drawn from another angle to be used for an interesting sprite sequence [ I even created a lightly animated sprite for the sequence a while ago :D ] It was a painful slog to color though and I was in a pretty bad mood for the day x'D

Luckily I got over my 'case of the mondays' though, because next up is the final part of a 3 CG set featuring the lizards. I really enjoyed playing with harsh shading and fun colors for this one! I hope I can do something similar with some more CGs later~

And then I got a 2-for-1 deal on Celia's path! The 2 CGs were similar enough that I squeezed in the bit of extra work to get one done early ^o^ Feels pretty fuckin' good tbh. And I had such a wonderful day on Friday streaming the inking and coloring as well. It's been so, so long since I've been able to say I've had a GOOD day, but Friday was genuinely a good day. 

I also like how these CGs came out. I played with the perspective and ended up with something less realistic than I've been doing, but I think it was well worth it since it gives a sort of cartoonish impact to the scene [ if that makes any sense ]. I'm learning where to draw the line with realism and stylization better for my tastes I think.

I'm a bit.... apprehensive about next week x'D A terrible record-breaking heatwave is descending where I live and shit is gonna get uncomfortable. I live in a 50 year old apartment building with no AC so uhhhhhh better stay hydrated LMAO! Luckily I happen to live on the ground floor in the shade of the building though so hopefully my apartment's cavelike structure will help me out ^o^
