Hi everyone! ^o^ It's another summer Saturday and I have some production updates to post!

But first I want to quickly apologize for taking so long to post the credits list this month. I've been having my usual summer adrenaline problems and to be totally honest it completely slipped my mind. I'll be posting them either tonight or tomorrow!

As for the actual update, I have good news! I was quite productive this week and I managed to tear through most of the rest of Derek's path. In terms of sprites, there are only two endings left for me to cover. These last two endings will take a bit of time though since one of them requires two fully custom sprites [ not just expression redraws, but new sprites from scratch since I need a pose change and an outfit change ].

The vast majority of my work for the entire path has actually been working with Jaqueline and Tom since they have no masks and the player talks with them a lot more often [ without being... you know.... murdered ]

They both have a pretty good collection of expressions now! I also did a few good expressions with the 'villain' characters, but I can't show them because they're spoilery.

I also made a couple of GUI updates that I've been meaning to make to polish the overall look of the game.

I replaced Ren'py's default images for the save file backgrounds to give them a more elegant look when they're empty and to give them a drippy blood effect when they're hovered over. Drippy blood makes everything better!

I also created 'status indicators' on the stats popout to remind the player of any permanent statuses they may have acquired. This was pretty complicated since it's all 100% custom and I had to build everything from scratch- but I am pleased as punch with the results! I think it looks pretty clean!

There are three 'status effects' that can happen in the game. I wasn't really planning to have them, but they sort of just 'happened' as I was programming.

wounded: The player loses 3 HP every hour
gravely wounded: The player loses 5 HP every hour
encumbered: The player loses 3 Energy Points every hour, regardless of their hunger level

It's only possible to become encumbered on Mason's path when you pick up a specific very heavy item which you can drop at any time to relieve the status effect.

And that's about it! 

I'm thinking that next week will be mostly just art work on the two remaining 'special' full body sprites before I move on to Celia's path.
