Hello again friends! It's that time again!

This week has been still a bit of a struggle, but definitely better than last week! It's unusual for my adrenaline/cortisol spikes to last two whole weeks but it's FINALLY easing up and going away! [ these things usually last about 1-1.5 weeks for me ].

As for work, I'd say I still managed to have a fairly productive week. Not my absolute highest productivity, but acceptable.

For pretty much the whole week, I've been working on the interactions between the player and the fellow victims on Derek's path. I thought my heavy volume work would be during death sequences, but I realized that I placed so many CGs that sprites aren't actually used that much during those parts!

Instead, I've been tackling the task of making conversations flow well between captives. It's been a bit interesting since I've never had to worry about expressions for more than one character on screen before. Not only that, but the presence of these characters depends entirely on the player's ability to save them, so many conversations have to be coded to work with 1, 2, or even 3 characters present.

For instance, the conversation above only requires Jaqueline's presence, but I had to code in expressions for if Tom is present [ like above ].

While I did a bunch of heavy editing in the intro to reduce characters on screen to be a maximum of 2, I decided that the cave area scenes can have 3 characters on screen since the claustrophobia kinda fits the situation. [ also I'm sorry all my screenshots have this same background, a LOT of dialogue happens in the cave area x'D I'm pretty much done with it now though so next week will be different ]

At the moment, I've drawn 21 special expressions for side sprites and 17 for full body sprites. I appear to have underestimated the amount of expressions that I would want to draw. Which honestly I should have foreseen. I don't think those numbers are even close to half of what I'm going to end up with since I haven't touched Celia or Mason yet. [ Those WILL go faster with less characters but Celia I think will need a lot of expressions ]

One last thing and I'll stop typing I swear- I made a quick fix to the collections page, which was mistakenly showing about 10% extra progress on the red bar than it should have for players. I thought it was a math problem but it turned out to just be a design problem.

I also changed the text under the greyed out buttons to tell the player exactly how many items they would need to unlock the button [ CGs, backgrounds, and endings all contribute to these numbers ]

And that's about it for this week! Hopefully next week will show some different faces and places X'D

Thank you so much everyone for your incredible support, and especially for your patience. I feel lucky every day to be able to work for you guys <3 Stay safe!
