Saturday Update! (Patreon)

Hi again friends! It's time for my Saturday check in to let you know what I've been up to for the past week!

... And I'm disappointed to report that I didn't get as much done as I hoped to. 

I'm afraid last week turned out to be a really hard week filled with anxiety instead of productivity. I won't sugar-coat it, I probably got about half as much done as I actually wanted to.

In better news, I am feeling better and I was quite productive on Friday, so I think I'm over the bad hump. I'm currently programming the placeholder cgs into Mason's path while editing the writing and previous coding.

One thing that slowed me down was realizing that since I programmed Mason first- his path's coding was missing some of the polish that was in later paths. It had a lot of weird little hiccups like playing a short event and then still playing the 'staying in one spot' text for the area you're in- which resulted in this stilted "I'm so cold right now. I stayed in the meadow." type of situation. So that's all fixed now!

I'm also finding an astounding amount of typos. And bad writing. I knew I would, but jeez. There's a lot to fix.

I really wanted to be finished Mason's path by now, but according to the death collection screen, I'm only about half done- maybe less than half since three of those missing endings are very complicated and take multiple steps to get.

But, moping about my lack of productivity isn't going to get work done. I'm going to just come back fresh on Monday and make myself proud instead!

As a completely side note- I also decided on a new game feature. Luckily, it should be very quick to program.

I'd like to add a button to wipe your progress completely [ I'll make sure to give it like 3 'are you sure?' alerts ]. 

One thing I noticed from BTD was that some people wanted to start over after a while and there was no elegant way to do that- deleting the game doesn't actually destroy your permanent variables in Ren'Py games. But I can put in a button for it!

Anyway! Sorry again about this long and sad update- I will do better next time!!
