Hello everyone! It's time for updates!
Current image finalization progress: 12/709
If some of you have been here for a long time, you may recognize the green progress bar of doom LMAO She's back for more!!!
The number 709 refers to all Sprite Images, all Backgrounds, and all CGs [ although my 'CGs' and 'Sprites' are really handled the same way in this game ]
Many of the Sprite images are partial sprites, heads or bodies meant to be mixed and matched. Several of the backgrounds are variants of one major image as well- things like lighting changes and little detail changes.
The final number may still change slightly as I continue to work- I actually just added several new sprite placeholders last week [ more on that later ;) ]

First up, I'll show off the next couple of backgrounds I finalized last week. That '12' number refers to all of the completed background images- that's not 12 full backgrounds mind you. I've completed 4 full backgrounds. The rest of the images are images I use with the Bar background to make it feel more lived in. Things like silhouettes of people who gradually leave while you talk to Strade.

In terms of other work, I also got some more good changes to the script in thanks to the Alpha testers. There were fixes and tweaks as usual, but I think one of the more exciting changes in particular was some fairly substantial alterations to one of the endings based on how you get to it. This involved adding some different/new versions of sprites and quite a bit of script changes.
In general, I feel like many of the endings are more fluid in this game. What I mean by that is that they may not play out exactly the same way every time, depending on how you approach them. The vibe and flavour of them may change in subtle or strong ways. For instance, if you get a certain ending with one type of personality, it will feel pretty different than if you get it with a different personality.
I think this will add some interesting replay value. Even if you technically have all the endings, there may be lots to see still ;)

I also squeezed in some music work again! I admit I've been a bit obsessed with it... Maybe a little too obsessed LMAO [ I may have forgotten to eat more than once this week... I will try to do better with that ]
I polished up the intro song some more, and I finally feel like it's really what I want. I might still end up changing it, we have like a year of art work to do after all, but I'm genuinely rather happy and proud of it.
I also began working on a new song, this time meant to play on the 'You Died' screen. This song isn't nearly complete, but it's shaping up. There's no ending and it's still a little messy/missing something. But it's coming along!

Lastly, I've done my usual weekly art dumping at DMG. This week, I added all of my artwork from 2015. PLEASE USE VIEWER DISCRETION WITH THIS SET. 2015 was not a good year for me mentally, and while I ended up drawing a LOT of art, a lot of it was really really violent and just... I dunno how to explain it other than rancid vibes. Lots of rancid vibes. I think some of my most upsetting work was during that year. If any of my characters are your comfort character then you might not wanna view, because literally none of my OCs were safe.

And I think that's about it for this week! Next week I plan to continue with background work [ the actual basement! ] and probably some more work with the Alpha testers. This phase of testing is nearly complete- I'll probably shut it down in the next two weeks.
