Saturday Update! (Patreon)
Content
Hello folks! It's finally the weekend!
I'm afraid this update will be a little bit sparse for a few reasons ^^; I was kind of burnt out this week from jugging too many things during the past few weeks- however I DO feel like a lot was accomplished! Unfortunately, it's just the kind of things that I can't easily portray in a Saturday Update 😅
-----------------------
First off in the week, I was switched over completely to packing and shipping orders from my store. I want to thank everyone who's been shopping on there! I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to sell all the stock I bought, since I bought everything before my big social media shutdown and things have changed... but now that the merch drop is over, I feel like it's going to be okay.
Don't worry though if you want one of the new Fox dakis and can't buy one yet! There's still hundreds left [ 324 to be exact ] ^o^ I think I actually chose a pretty good number to buy- enough to satisfy the rush and still have enough for a long time [ but hopefully should be able to sell them eventually like in a couple years, or at least be able to make back what they cost to buy ]
I did have a really exhausting Monday though. Packing pit always wears me out, but then I had a horrible time at the post office. The woman working that day didn't want to deal with my 170 packages so she told me they all had to be signed or she wouldn't take them [ this is 100% not true, I have sent literally thousands of packages without signing the shipping label and they have all arrived fine- even through that very post office ] So I needed to sign them in there and lost my ride and had to walk home.
So if you receive a package with the messiest and angriest signature you've ever seen in your life on it, that's why 😂
-----------------------
I meant to do more stuff like get into the art or music more, but instead I ended up working with the Alpha Testers all week.
This is actually a good thing though- the reason why is that my alpha testers have been extremely busy and have been providing me with an incredible amount to work with.
We've gotten through most of the simple spelling/grammar/continuity issues [ not all, I'm sure, but the vast majority ], so I switched gears and provided them with a long list of creative improvements I wish I could make to the game- places I felt like the script is weaker, or the mechanics aren't utilized as much as they could be.
And I must emphasize to you as much as possible, the alpha testers have been INCREDIBLE at providing me with critique and advice about my concerns. Beyond my wildest dreams!
I wish I could share more details about this sort of thing to get my excitement across, but it's all really cool plot stuff that I don't want to spoil. So, I'm asking you to rely on my bank of kept promises for now and believe me when I tell you- thanks to alpha tester advice, the script and gameplay are GETTING SO MUCH BETTER!!
They're really helping me get my desired concepts and ideas across in ways I just wouldn't be able to think of by myself. I'm incredibly grateful for the help.
I'm finally beginning to feel some confidence that you guys are gonna really like the game! ^o^
So.... I sort of have to leave this update as "please believe me that major exciting improvements have happened this week and are continuing to happen, even though I can't show you any proof this time" 😅
-----------------------
Lastly, on Friday I did my usual scheduled update of DMG.com. I've added my art down to 2017 now- nearly done! I intend to add more art from 2016 and a bit of 2015, and that will be it [ before that I actually wasn't really doing any digital art for years, I was in college and working office jobs and stuff. I gave up on art for a long time ]
-----------------------
Anyway, I'm sorry for the text wall of an update this week ^^; I'm hoping that this weekend I can finally get over this burnout I got from trying to do too many things at once over the last couple weeks. The merch stuff is done, my major website updating is almost done, alpha testing is organized and solid now, so work should be simplifying a bit for me.
Thank you so much for your support!!!
And if you're travelling or going to go see that eclipse later- be safe!! Drive safely and make sure your eyes are protected properly.
Have a great weekend!
