Gunwild: Pretty sure that Lavadon is a better design than several monsters we've fought in Gears 5 lately, and it's only around for one panel!

Psu: Clawlossus doesn't need to wait for glowing weakpoints, he makes his own way. This strip is really silly, I feel like embracing the weirdness that is Clawlossus is very indicative of the spirit of our comic. There's serious people all the time but it's a pretty weird world. But just because they're "weird" doesn't mean they're not people. And Clawlossus is very much his own person with hopes and dreams and stuff.

Gunwild: Well yeah. But I think it's been said about a million times that science fiction exists to let us reflect on our own issues through the lens of barely-plausible situations. Haven't we all felt like a broke megacrab with a wounded pincer and family troubles, from time to time?

Psu: It is nice to find work with a troupe of valiant mermaids doing battle, if you can get it. That last panel is great... I don't remember how I did that.

Gunwild: It fits in a whole lot of stuff in such a small space! I imagine that evil seal in a pressure suit is some kind of interplanetary equivalent of Fantastic Four nemesis The Mole Man. Always dredging up some trouble from the bottoms of planet's oceans!

Psu: It's actually a reference to a Question Duck strip! These comics exist in the same universe, just so ya know.

Gunwild: Wow, I had totally forgotten that. Forgive me! (Doesn't preclude what I said though.)

Psu: That Sealman is dangerous, but I imagine it wasn't quite prepared for the menace that is the Lavadon. But maybe we'll save all the details of that story for another day. Meanwhile I think it's just appreciated that Clawlossus has a happy ending, at this point.

Gunwild: Word. Wonder if Lavadon meat is pre-cooked?

Psu: I think you need to grind a few more encounters to get the ingredients to make Lavadon Curry.
