Weekly Anime Comics VOTING INSTRUCTIONS (Patreon)

I’m making this post public so that everyone can stay caught up on the news, especially people who aren’t patrons yet, but are thinking about it. If you’re not familiar with how this goes, here’s the deal: One Dollar patrons get to read all the comics I post here (weekly anime and otherwise) right away, well before they go public anywhere else. FIVE Dollar patrons (and up) actually get to vote on decisions involving those comics, and the time for one of those decisions has come!

Season one of Slayers has officially wrapped up, and I need to know what to do next. Obviously, there’s a LOT more Slayers media out there past this first season, so it’s entirely possible for me to just keep on going and do Slayers Next, well, next. Buuuut I’ve also been doing a Slayers comic a week for a WHILE now. Once again, sticking to shows I know I like has meant that I’m getting a LOT more material out of these shows than I used to. Still, I wouldn’t blame anybody for being sick of Lina & co at this point and wanting a change. And thus, the voting process begins again!

First off, I’m gonna give everybody a simple Yes/No choice on whether or not I should just do Slayers Next right now or do something else. If Next wins out, great. We’re done here. If “something else” wins, then we move on to round two. As with previous votes, I’ll put up a list of potential new shows I could cover, plus an obligatory “I changed my mind, I want slayers back” option… and I’ll probably include the option of bringing Card Captor Sakura back as well. But in case you’re new here and didn’t pick up on the implication, you’ll only be voting on shows that I’VE picked to choose from. We tried letting the patrons pick all the shows themselves, and I just got too burned out from doing it that way.

But one way or the other, if you want a say in that Weekly Anime Comics come next, you need to be a $5 patron to take part! So if you’ve been reading these comics and like what I’m doing, now would be a VERY good time to throw a few bucks my way be a part of the selection process! And even if you’re only a patron because you like Far Out There and don’t care about Conventional Wisdom stuff, your input would still be greatly appreciated. If nothing else, more outside input saves me the trouble of having to make a decision all on my own.

As for how long this vote will be open… I don’t actually know. Ideally, I’d like to have the next show picked by the time the last of the Slayers comics is posted publicly, but that all depends on how long it takes to get a majority decision. I know a lot of people don’t check Patreon very often, so I want to make sure nobody who wanted to vote misses out cos I called it too soon. Also, you never know if somebody new might sign up at the last minute, I always want to leave people time to give me more money. I dunno, we'll see what happens. I’ll give the Yes/No vote at least one full week, and we’ll see what happens next from there. After all, I ALSO kinda need a bit of a break from Weekly Anime Comics to work on some other stuff, so how long I wait might also depend on how long it takes me to work on all THAT stuff. But in the meantime…
