Well, okay, I KNOW why: it's because apparently none of the Omake Theater shorts are on any decent video host, so they CAN'T go viral. Seriously, I checked for SOMETHING I could link to here, but it's not even on DailyMotion. That's like... that's like... I'm trying to come up with some sort of retail-based comparison, but I don't think there is one. How scarce is a clip is nobody even bothered to post it on DAILYMOTION?

But I digress. Since apparently most people have no idea what I'm talking about: Blue Seed Omake Theater was a series of shorts added to the video releases, throwing the characters into various comedic situations or parodies. The eleventh: "Blue Seed, The Biggest Battle on Earth!!" is a tribute to old Toho Kaiju movies. Makes sense, as I've already pointed out a strong kaiju influence in the series. But the thing is, it's one of the most faithful genre parodies I've ever seen in an anime. I mean, Gainax at their most nerdy WISHES they could get as many details right as this fake trailer does. From cameos by lesser Toho properties (I'm always a little surprised by how many people seem to love Atragon) to technical bits like the way the screen stuttered when the titles appear, to ACTUALLY USING AKIRA IFUKUBE'S ORIGINAL MUSIC AS THE SOUNDTRACK, it is truly a thing of beauty. If you fancy yourself any kind of Godzilla fan, you owe it to yourself to go find this video.
