Making some steady progress this week.  The new armor set is for the town guards.  I wanted to give them something a bit more upscale and professional looking.  The high poly sculpt is almost done and I should be able to start on the low poly in the next few days.

Also chipping away at the first dungeon area.  The full layout is finished and I started detailing the scene.  I'm trying to sort out how to do the visual fx for the game still.  I was hoping to find something on the Unreal marketplace that would work and save me time but the quality level and styles are really inconsistent.  So I've been digging around through references and tutorials and trying to figure out how long it would take me to learn and then make some good looking fx.  One resource that I keep turning to for stuff like this is over here https://simonschreibt.de/game-art-tricks/ .   He has a lot of really good break downs and I've been going through the video and resources he posted about Stylized VFX on Rime.

I changed engine versions over to 4.26 relatively smoothly.  The new atmosphere and cloud systems are really nice.   I reworked the day/ night cycle to use the new features and I'm hoping to have that ready to go for the next build.

What's next?

I want to get the male imps up to speed.  I lost a bunch of work on them back when my computer blew up last year and I'll need to remake a handful of assets.  But I do want them as the enemies in this first dungeon.  That plus more armor work, environment work, and vfx studying this next week!
