So this is a bit of a departure from character designs and is instead class designs! Dark Emblem is intended to follow a class system akin to that of Fire Emblem where characters can class into different classes and progress in class branches. To that, this is the first collection of magic classes. We have:

The Acolyte - dark mages. The direction for them was that they are kind of sewer rat mages who use their bodies and profane sources for their magic. Their designs were largely inspired from Alexander McQueen's work, but quickly became more ragtag as the design process continued

The Apprentice - officially trained Imperial mages. These are mages that wield Primal elements like fire and ice to fight on the front lines of an eternal war. Accordingly, I wanted to give them a prim and sharp design as if their fighting was secondary to their status.

The Menders - the final base magic class, menders are the healers. Folk magic users, this class was designed to be practicality above all else. Pockets, smocks, boots, and gloves along with a boxier silhouette was intended to show a more pragmatic and stalwart appearance

And that's kind of it! Originally, I went with the more traditional concept art path of thumbnails, but it worked better with the director to have me just dive in, so I did!
