After failing to catch whoever is inside the female titan during the last episode, the Survey Corps suddenly gets another chance. But once again it really does not go as planned, even though Eren initially chose to trust the rest of Levi's squad.. Damn, this one was tough to watch.

Regarding the squad's demise, it is anticipated by Erwin's words. You can't just do the smart/best moves in other to outsmart the enemy, you have to take big risks in order to win (with the risks of losing everything). They failed, because they chose the best fighting Titan strategy they know, against a titan whose abilities were unknown. What they "should" have done was to take bigger risks, and that might have meant fighting with Titan Eren, from the beginning for example. But once again, as Levi said, you don't know how things may turn out in the end. In the end, We don't have a clear indication of what would have been better in terms of result, but Eren is regretting a lot his choice, which means to him he made the wrong choice.

I love the fact that you always take a step back and talk about the perspectives , it is really vital in this show, everything and everyone isn’t white nor black and it’s wonderful ! I want to tell you that I found Kat difficulties with her words today very endearing and also reliable, cause English isn’t my mother tongue either and when I get passionate or have multiple ideas to express at once it slips 😁. But you are doing a great job in expressing your thoughts Kat 😉

Just want to point out always remember psychological aspects for this show, like you pointed out "survivor's guilt" it's really important to remember. As you are still only in season 1. Almost all the things happening in this season has big impacts for future seasons. Like the reactions, keep them coming. I tried to get you watch this show when you started Naruto and that was like over a year ago :D. My main point was that this show is mainly mystery, but psychological aspects and understanding about human psyche is important in understanding characters of the show.

AH such an amazing episode, one thing I always wonder is if maybe Eren transforming and fighting alongside Levi's squad would've ended in the female titan being captured or at leas killed, its very interesting how the squad asks him to make the "safe" choice and trust in them, at the same time, Erwin is telling Hange how humanity cannot win if they keep making the safe choices. As Levi says, you can never tell the outcome of your decisions beforehand, more so in such a cruel universe but this decision is so interesting.
