We have made it to the penultimate episode, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Recently the series has really been a slow burn, and I mean that in the best possible way. Although we definitely got some action towards the end there... pheeew! Things are about to come to a head on all fronts in the finale, and we are so ready for it!

Lake Winnipesaukee is in New Hampshire, I spent a lot of times in my childhood there! Its not that hoighty-toighty, but you will find a couple assholes in salmon colored shorts. That conversation between Amos and Hutch was pure “let’s make you like this new character so you’ll be sad when they die” so I think she’s gone.

You guys definitely are doing a good job. Been watching you from season 1. I remember Sonny saying "I watched like 2 seasons of this show but I don't freaking remember because I was doing something else while watching" and I was thinking "oh boy he's not going to like this show anyway is he". And yet here we are. One more!

So frustrating seeing people hundreds of years in the future do the same dumb things we've always done throughout history haha. Thank God they replaced the UN leader, I don't know what constitutes a war crime in the future, but he definitely committed one. Avasarala spelled out for him how killing innocent people is not only disgusting (and exactly what Marco did) but also how killing 1 insurgent creates 10 more (something we even know now as seen in this NATO report: https://www.nato.int/isaf/docu/official_texts/counterinsurgency_guidance.pdf if anyone reading this is interested) and he still thought he was in the right. He wasn't being rational at all. Love this show, but it also depresses me about human nature haha.

Not really a gamer but they definitely should consider bringing the cast back for a Vid game set in the world while we wait for the final trilogy.

I feel you, Kat... We were already having a mental health crisis before the pandemic hit, so.. I certainly hope things go better for you. Both of you.❣️

People say humans continue to hurt each other hundreds of years into the future because that’s part of who we are, ...when that’s just very untrue. Capitalism is the problem. Imperialism. Colonialism. Exploiting our fellow human beings for a profit, instead of having a collective effort, like most native Americans did, and many other civilizations, and even modern countries have displayed.

A while back you asked us for positive stories. Here is one for you Kat. I take care of COVID patients in the hospital as a palliative care physician. I have been seeing a patient who was diagnosed with COVID in mid December and went home. AFter 4 days he was found to have silent hypoxia and came to the hospital. He had to use non invasive oxygen support for about 2 weeks and finally required endotracheal intubation. He had to be sedated and finally paralyzed in order to keep his lungs oxygenated and was often put into a prone position in order to help inflate his lungs. He is my age and I spent a lot of time on the phone with his wife trying to support her through a horrific situation as she is unable to visit him in the hospital. Well, earlier in the week, I heard he was starting to respond (he had a tracheostomy placed for continued ventilator support) 4 weeks after being intubated. I put all the PPE on and went to see him. I called his name and his eyes opened. I was excited but he could not respond to any commands. He was moved out of the Intensive care unit and out of enhanced contact isolation (finally!!). Today after a long day of work I went to see him again. His eyes opened and he watched me, he nodded yes and no to questions and tried to squeeze my hand when I asked him to! He has a very long road ahead but he is finally making strides to recovery. This is COVID but some of us will beat it. I wanted to call his wife immediately with this joyful news. Some days like this do make it all worth while. Hang in there Kat! And isn't it wonderful we have a world where The Expanse exists to make our days just a little bit better as well?!
