This penultimate episode of the season really put some things into perspective. And even that opening with the fleet... damn! A lot of tough scenes, but the story is just getting more and more intriguing!

Yeah so Amon's technique of taking bending away is similar to how Ty Lee blocked chi. Really love this episode. Glad you guys enjoyed it! Great reaction and discussion!

Since you guys are talking about chi blocking in Naruto (I haven't watched the show) do you remember Ty Lee from ATLA? Perhaps that can help you with connecting the dots.

yeah Kat I think you're onto something - i remember in book 2 when Katara was tending to the mperial earthbenders in Ba Sing Se after Ty Lee took them down she was using her waterbending to feel the flow of their chi, which I believe is what she learned in Book 1 with the waterbending master when she took to the healing huts with the other female waterbenders with the instructor showing them to pour their bending like into the chi paths of the patient they're working on...very vey interesting if the mechanism is the same but in reverse using bloodbending to permanently halt its flow physiologically

oh damn yeah wait, the guru teaching Aang about chakras likened it to a series of swirling lakes of energy in your body. God, now im remembering the Aunt Wu episode with the pair of twins where one could earthbend but other one couldn't...which kinda indicated that bending is not genetic but spiritually determined And Amon touches their Crown chakra which "deals with cosmic energy, and is blocked by earthly attachment" and grabs them by the backs of their necks which I believe was the chakra above their 'earth water fire and [air] chakras... and there's one chakra in between those two...so... is he literally blocking the bender's innate connection to their ability to interact with a physical object (their element) by channeling their crown chakras energy down and out of their body??? I'm going off on a tangent and I should stop hahahah
