We knew you guys were looking forward to our reactions to this one, and we definitely see why! Such an ingenious way to structure an episode, it was over way too soon..
But man, did we love every second of it! ❤️

This is one of the first of our full length reactions, where we have implemented the new changes. I decided to just remove the sound (from the actual episode only, you can still hear it coming out of the speakers on our television) and make the video at the bottom transparent. The first ten seconds are unchanged, so that you have something to sync your own copy of the episode to. Since some of you suggested this approach, I thought I'd give it a go instead of using a timer.

Feedback is very much appreciated.

What's even sadder, though its not official, you can probably guess Iroh blames him self alot for his son death, as he was the general of the army and he himself sent his son to the front lines so he feels alot of guilt and and he tries to make up for it by helping people along his way by evidence before he sings, he goes, "If only I could have helped you" but yeah, uncle Iroh is amazing person

Even though people hype up this episode, the rest of the series is just as amazing :O But yeah that Iroh scene hits different. RIP Mako. I really love the Zuko one as well. A lot of depth there.

Mo

The momo bit is what gets to me every time. 😭

I'm glad you guys decided to do the new reactions this way. I am usually not able to sync up at the same time I watch your reactions, but doing it this way still let's me enjoy them. Thanks!

Junior

Ok fuck I’m ready to cry with you guys now

Can’t wait for next episode!!

I love Sokka's rap battle. I think it's so much his character in a nutshell. It shows how clever he actually is and how he struggles. "Much of it self-inflicted" lol. And what a ladies man he is hehe.

Is there some app that helps synchronize or something. I have a strangely difficult time doing so

The wording in Iroh's son's portrait says: To General Iroh, We will meet again after our victory. Your loyal son, Lu Ten

Alex

The voice actor Mako Iwamatsu passed away from cancer shortly after recording the second season which makes that song even sadder for me. Glad you guys enjoyed the episode and the new format is working well :)

Kat, you're so smart, beautiful and compassionate. I really admire you for growing out of all the hatred and stupidity from the idiots on the internet. I wish I will be as strong as you some day. When I was a kid, I related to Toph the most. She was this witty badass girl who was able to show vulnerability without losing any of her strength. Girls need more that kind of representation on kids' TV.

This episode is unique within the series though it has others that stand apart in their own ways as this one does. It was built out of scenes that were cut from other episodes to fit them into a half hour runtime for Nickelodeon. I'm so glad they decided to put them all together in this little anthology. They're great glimpses into these characters. The tales of Iroh and Momo hit me hard the first time I saw them.

I almost cried again watching Iroh's tale, it gets me everytime. Also, I think the Bison whistle is similar to a dog whistle. If you remember in the Swamp episode when Momo blow it to get Appa to move, Momo's fur was raised because the sound of the whistle was bothering him as well.

DanielleM

I read a comment somewhere that said the sweetest part about Katara telling Toph she's pretty is that Toph believes her because she can tell when people lie. So Toph could tell that Katara was telling the truth.

idk where you heard this, but this whole episode was planned out this way. It wasn't the result of cut content.

I cry every time I see the Iroh story. He's such a wonderful and wise person who clearly loves his son and wants to right all of the wrongs in his past. My girlfriend had never seen the show and when we watched it together, we both cried. It's such a special moment.

I really appreciate you both spending some time talking about the Toph/Katara story. It's great and has some good messaging, but it often gets outshone (understandably) by the Iroh and Momo stories, which are amazing stories of course.
