City of walls and secrets, indeed.

This is one of the first of our full length reactions, where we have implemented the new changes. I decided to just remove the sound (from the actual episode only, you can still hear it coming out of the speakers on our television) and make the video at the bottom transparent. The first ten seconds are unchanged, so that you have something to sync your own copy of the episode to. Since some of you suggested this approach, I thought I'd give it a go instead of using a timer.

Feedback is very much appreciated.

Did you try to let only the subtitle appear? i use my phone to watch, so it's kinda hard to see what moment is shown. just as reference

hey I tried to sync the episode up with the episode on amazon, but yours seems to be a bit slower and I had to pause mine every few seconds to keep it in sync. Maybe it is my fault somehow, but it would be helpful if you could say which streaming service you're using

I like this format a lot better than the timer, although I would maybe put subtitles on for future episodes so people can sync a tad bit easier. If you need help making it so that the subtitles bit is clear but the rest is slightly transparent, I'm happy to help!

So this kinda sucks for me, i cant watch you guys on full screen and togheter with netflix. So it has to be to both small screens. Or the full screen (patreon) and put netflix on my phone infront of my laptop screen. But i find that very annoying and not enjoyable. Is there a way that maybe we can download the episode? Maybe im able to put it on full screen with the episode togheter. I dont know if that works but this doenst really work for me unfortunatly. You guys are my favroite reactors <3 so im trying to make it work but its hard. If someone has an idea how i can watch this togheter on one screen please let me know.

I’m going to miss the old method but this works just fine. I think a small timer should still be added somewhere for us to sync with you better.

i like this approach :) thank you! the timer will leave us guessing about what's happening if we don't sync it with our own video but with this one, we have the option not to.

Ba Sing Se is inspired by Ancient China. The Dai Li (代理) means Secret Agents in Chinese, and the outfit and hairstyle is based on the Qing Dynasty. Even the palace is modeled after the Forbidden City (紫荆城) in Beijing. Many young emperors in Ancient China were controlled by regents and that is usually the cause to the rise and fall of different dynasties in Chinese history. I love how this kid's show did not shy away from politics, propaganda, surveillance, re-education, and suppression of information.

The cat-owl is a Chinese pun because an owl (猫头鹰) is literally translated as cat-headed bird of prey in Mandarin.

I truly don't get how people are watching and enjoying this? I have no idea what is going on in the episode because the image is so see-through it's almost invisible and the sound is close to inaudible for me. I literally joined the Patreon because I was so excited for this final stretch of episodes in Book 2 (in my opinion the best part of A:TLA) and now it's pointless. Are the youtube edited versions gonna use the same format? Or will those use the normal video format?

For the full-length reactions, Kat & Sonny have decided to show the first 10 seconds of the episode so viewers can sync their own version of the episode up with the reaction. This decision was made to stop any potential copyright strikes or other penalties that could occur. The YouTube episodes will still be edited down to 10 minutes of the show and then discussion afterwards. They explained this decision in previous and current posts, thank you.

There are not full length versions on YouTube...I don't know if you're not familiar with how reactors do this but how they're doing it is how everyone else has done it. I watch the episode on my TV and watch their reactions on my phone. Many reactors literally say line up your episode with ours and watch. This is done all the time..

you should upload a version with nothing on drive so people can download and sync it easier.

I don't think the refugees are going through the brainwashing. I think that is the reason why the refugees are walled off in the poor part of the city. There people probably know about the war, they just tell you not to talk about it. But in the middle-class and rich part of the city they act like there is no war. Since they rarely ever, if at all, enter the part of the city with the refugees it should be possible to quite it down. We saw clearly that some of these people know about the war, they are simply afraid to mention it.
