And here we are folks, we have reached the end of Band of Brothers, and our journey with Easy Company is now over.. This was such an impactful experience!

But we are not done yet - even though Kat can't be a part of them, Sonny and his father are still going to continue with The Pacific, and we cannot wait to start that jouney!

We will also watch the Band of Brothers documentary and get into some more history from WWII, especially what happened in Denmark during that time.

That video is going to be a Patreon exclusive, though.

Thank you all so much for following along, and we hope you will join us for the next one! 💜

The video won’t play. It’s telling me it’s reached the maximum amount of playbacks?

Anonymous

Yeah I can’t watch or download it

Irfan Malik

It's working for me

I was so excited to see this uploaded today. Great reaction- probably the best I’ve seen and I’ve watched all BoB reactions on YouTube and on Patreon. I’m excited to watch The Pacific with Sonny and his Dad. Your comments about Liebgott and his retaliation reminds me of something my Dad told me. My father, rest his soul, was 16 when the war ended in Europe. He was afraid the war would end before he got a chance to fight, so he ran away from home and joined the US Army. By the time he got to the Philippines, the war with Japan ended and he was part of the occupational forces in Japan. Then the Korean War broke out and he ended up fighting in Korea. He had an army buddy named Jack, who was a Dutch Jew who escaped the Netherlands as a teen during the occupation. Like Ann Frank, Jack and his sister and parents hid in a Dutch family’s home while the Nazis were rounding up Jews to send to concentration camps. A neighbor ratted them out, and Jack’s sister and parents were taken. Jack managed to escape to England, then to America, where he joined the Army to fight. After WWII ended, Jack went back to the Netherlands and killed the people who ratted on his family. He came back to the States, went to Korea and became friends with my Dad, in whom he confided his story. Later, in Korea, Jack and my Dad were in a mess hall with other soldiers and one of them announced his engagement to a young woman he met in Europe. He proudly showed her picture to them and astonishingly enough, it turned out to be Jack’s sister, who survived Auschwitz. They were reunited after the war in Korea ended. My Dad remained friends with Jack until his death in 2004.

The shows almost 20 years old and it was awesome to see even after all that time a fresh set of eyes go through the experience that is band of brothers I’ll be sticking around for the pacific for sure Looking forward to episode 1 next week.

The end of the series is always a tear jerker. The documentary with the series just wrecks me to watch it. I knew men like these guys, and seeing all the trauma they had to go through just rough.

Anonymous

Tried on my phone and it said what you reported. Watched it on the computer without issue.

Irfan Malik

This series is my no1 and it won't be beat, I'm just so happy you both got to experience it as well. I believe that this should be shown in schools so kids will grow up to appreciate the freedoms given to them and the sacrifices made to make it possible. Thank you again and I will love to see the interviews and the Pacific too.

Bertolt Hoov

Sorry for asking since I've seen the question a couple times but I don't know the answer, will you be watching The Pacific?

Anonymous

When yall get a chance, i would highly recommend the We Stand Alone Together documentary of band of brothers

pooper

how come kat won't be watching the pacific?

My favorite episode of the whole series. Really enjoyed watching you guys react to it. Be a bit of a history buff there's a guy on YouTube Mark Felton who enjoys finding and sharing little history tidbits. Found this one today that kind of ties in with Band of Brothers, you may already be aware of this but I was not and found it very interesting: The Tag is Canadian Paratroopers Save Denmark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWcRl7Q7pGs

Video not working.

To those of you who can't see the video - I am not sure, but it might have something to do with whether or not you are logged in to a Google account. If you are, you should be able to see it and download it. If not.. then I don't really have a fix right now, but I am looking further into it! I am really sorry about this.

Sonny Mike Olsen

Yeah, I just read up on some of that as well.. We might have to find a different platform instead of Google Drive at some point. We do have a lot of videos on there, and we are sharing them with all of the patrons, so right now that is over 650 potential users.

Doesn’t help. I sign in and still won’t let me view the video unfortunately

Video worked for me after the third try. I was looking forward to seeing your reaction to the reveal of who the men in the interviews were! I’ll be looking forward to the documentary (which Kat should definitely watch)as well. I’ll miss Kat for the pacific, although I understand. The Pacific is definitely darker in tone (but not more violent as others are saying), no happy cities of Dutch women rubbing their boobs in Percontes face, no cute Austrian blondes cheering you on, just desolate island after desolate island chock full of fanatical Japanese soldiers wearing down your humanity. I do look forward to more of Sonny’s Pops though! I’d also recommend the HBO series “Generation Kill” about the 2003 invasion of Iraq for Sonny’s dad after the pacific. It’s a great series, much lighter than the pacific, but it deals with incompetent leadership and the reality of fighting an unjust war. It would be amazing to see Sonny’s dads reaction!

Damn.. I am uploading it to Vimeo, and will post the link at the top of the original post as soon as it is done. It will be removed again at some point, but then people will at least get the chance to see it asap.

Haxxy

Have you guys tried Bitchute or Mega? Much more reliable and far less prone to content removal then Vimeo or Dailymotion.

You can just reupload it to google drive as a new file? Or make a copy of the original already in google drive? The file is going to be locked for 24hrs, maybe my above suggestion with some links handed out will resolve it. Saves you having to reupload or use another service like Vimeo.

William

I only just watched "Generation Kill" recently, and oh my...I felt as though I knew every single character in that darn show. It was like being back in the service again (I retired in 2011). Heck, my step dad (a Vietnam vet - USMC) felt the same. We had ear-to-ear grins the entire time. Nice recommendation.

Thank you so much for sharing this journey with us!

Watched the entire season with you guys. Great review and reaction! Looking forward to more!

Such beautiful reactions to such an important and timeless series. I always enjoy how empathetic the both of you are. I cried like a baby at the end of this one with the soldiers telling their stories. My grandfather was in the Navy and stationed on a destroyer ship in the Pacific. His ship was kamikazied and his best friend died in his arms. I went to their reunion when I was about 13 and I had never seen such camaraderie between men. It really instilled a sense of bonding in me that I think helped nurture the empathy that I have now, as well as my values in terms of seeing people as your fellow man or woman, because when it really comes down to it, everyone is human. My grandfather gave me his Purple Heart medal that he got during the war for shrapnel in his leg from the attack I mentioned earlier. It's my most cherished possession. Thank you both for appreciating this series and being such wonderful people all the time. Love you both!

Sonny Mike Olsen

There are many reasons, but the main reason is lack of time. I am currently stretched pretty thin timewise as is and I am supposed to get a full-time job soon. Doing 4 different series in a week just took it's clear toll on me, and I have to scale back (a lot), unfortunately. I am very sorry, but I must tend to my health first and foremost ❤️

German speakers out there, what was the German couple saying when Webster emptied their rear seat to give that wounded soldier a ride to Munich.

bwr

Anyone know if there were any ramifications for the guy who shot the alleged German Camp Commander? The other guy had a point that the war was over, even if it was justified. I guess it would be a year or so before the Nuremberg trials. Maybe the incident was covered up at the time?

Sonny Mike Olsen

Something along the lines: as she complains about her clothes in the luggage that is thrown out, he aggressively says something like "what are you doing? You can't do that"

No, as they were sent there under orders of Capt. Speirs to eliminate him

Charles Edwards

I don’t see it here, but maybe it’s been mentioned before: Liebgott wasn’t actually Jewish, regardless of the name possibly sounding like he was. He was of Polish Catholic heritage. As for a couple other points... Alton Moore did get the photo album, and there is a big mystery as to what happened to it after his death. His family had it into the 1980’s, I believe, then there is some confusion on what happened to it. In any case, it is currently unaccounted for. When the real Shifty mentions losing a lot of confidence after the war ended, I get what he means. In a strange way, watching this series, you get invested in the characters so much and follow them along, but then when it ends you’re like “well, what do I do now?” I also used to only start crying when Winters would choke up, but now knowing all of the men depicted in this series are gone, I tear up the moment they go to them playing baseball. To give you some perspective, Kat & Sonny, in case you didn’t make the connection: Robert Kennedy was JFK’s younger brother who ran for President in 1968. He was assassinated just before or just after making a campaign speech. Buck Compton was prosecuting attorney in the case against Surhan Surhan and secured his conviction.

I randomly stumbled upon your YouTube and saw that you were reacting to Band of Brothers. Without watching any of your videos, I immediately signed up to your Patreon so I could watch your full-length reactions. No regrets! I'm a WW2 historian and I've watched Band of Brothers easily a dozen times. I've read every single one of their memoirs and all of the books about Easy Company. Despite all that, every time I rewatch BoB, I still find something new to connect to. Whether I zero in on a particular man or find myself focusing on a particular battle, it's still fresh and new to me. It's hard to believe this series is 20 years old! Your thoughts and reactions were so wonderful to listen to. You come from a unique place being Europeans (and living in a country that was occupied). Europeans think about this war differently than Americans and I really love listening to the thoughts and opinions of Europeans -even those who are several generations removed. So...THANK YOU. Thank you for reacting (and thank you Kat for sticking with it! I know it's very hard to watch) and thank you for your thoughtful and insightful thoughts. Thank you for reminding me how amazing this series is. It was amazing rewatching it through the eyes of those who had never watched it before. I've seen The Pacific several times but it's many years since I last sat down and watched so I'm super stoked Sonny and his dad are going to react to it. I imagine the Pacific Theater is something that Europeans don't know as much about so I can't wait to hear your thoughts and listen to Sonny's dad. I'm so glad I found you guys!!

Your excitement is truly and deeply appreciated. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and wonderfully kind words, it's so heartwarming 🦄💕
