Earlier in the season we visited the southern air temple, this time around it is the northern, and it is most definitely a different experience for Aang and the others than last time, that's for sure!

It is never explained how the door got opened before Aang. My assumption has always been that there was either another way in via secret passage or something, or that a wall was knocked down and then repaired without anyone else knowing. Also just a heads up, you may already know this but episodes 19 and 20 are meant to go together as a 2-parter!

1st - Its kinda what Sonny said. I personally assume that he broke a wall (like that place where he wanted to build a bath house). I think he saw that nobody can enter that room without being an airbender. So it was the perfect place to hide that they were making weapons for the firenation. And just forced his way into it. But thats what i always thought. 2nd: i love that they show that even if you have a disability, it doesnt mean you arnt able to do anything. And that they were never suprised, they accepted it in an instant. Like we all should.
