We have now reached what seems to be a rather infamous episode, that has been categorized more as a filler by many. But we still had fun with it!

This is by far my least favorite episode of the entire series, so I'm glad you had fun! :-)

My favorite part of this episode is seeing the two different sides of the same story, I love how they had the animation match the different tribes too! I'd love to find out the actually truth of the story. Anyway, I never really thought of this as a filler episode

Alot of people dislike this episode and think if it as a filler. Which i disagree on. - Traveling with your sibling (or being in the same place) can be infuriating. - People argue about something that happened in the past. (like you mentioned). Even though the reason or what happened was bad or hurt your feelings/or your tribe/culture, doesnt mean you should still be arguing and hating the other people years later. Like they and you guys said, you have to let go of the past if you want to look to your future. - Lying is bad, but its okay to tell a lie sometimes. I mean he stopped a one hundred year feud and let them let go of what happened and they continued to look to the future togheter. Also: - Aang doing his job as the Avatar. - Aang being a leader - Aang learning the people in this world. And that they are all very different. - Aang saving people by using his brain and not violence. He learned alot. I understand its a bit slower then the other episodes, but i dont think it makes it a bad one. So im glad you guys enjoyed this episode for what it was 😁

Many of those attaching the "filler" label to this episode do so from the vantage point of having seen the entire series and can weigh the individual episodes against one another. And while the term certainly carries a negative connotation in the minds of many it doesn't mean that it can't simultaneously be both filler and enjoyable/satisfying. I think it's an apt description. It's a largely self-contained episode whose themes are repeated in others that are more tightly interwoven with the main narrative (which you guys are getting really close to crossing the plunge point of). It's "sin" is trailing the pack of such a strong overall series.

Just realizing Rene Auberjonois was the voice of the Gan Jin Leader made this episode for me. Yeah it was a filler but it had a great message and it shows that Aang is slowly learning how to be the Avatar. Its not all about power but the job of the Avatar is to keep the peace without getting in a fight.

I never thought of this episode as filler. For me it was nice to see Aang try and remain impartial and to help these two tribes. Glad you enjoyed it !
