Ahhhhh it's finally come to an end!! 😭 We can't fully put into words how much we adored this show. There wasn't a single second that wasn't showing us something absolutely gorgeous or making us laugh or cry! These are some of the best written characters we've seen in anime and I (nivi) am probably going to binge a reaction to it myself because I can't let go of them yet!! Thank you all for experiencing this alongside us!! We'll be starting Arcane season 2 next! See you all there!

I mean denken is pretty old lol, he said his wife was in her mid 20s when she died and the first class mage exams started around 50 years ago, so he's probably in his mid 70s

Fortunately, there are plenty of other good reactions to this series that are out there to watch, so there is no shortage of those for Nivi (I think I have watched.... too many reactions to Frieren at this point. Like broke into double digits now). Such a good and appropriate ending to this season though. No real cliff hanger, a feel good moment, and a very apt explanation of quick goodbyes before giving a quick goodbye. I do agree with Cashew's comment about how it is always interesting seeing reactor's reaction to Serie in the OP in the first half, and then you have to wait so long to even hear about her. But she gets fleshed out into an interesting character that defies the initial impression.

Thank you for taking us on this delightful journey with you. Don't think of it as goodbye, just see you later! We see Ubel walking alone in the closing credits, but for a funny take, Google "Ubel playing the long game." Also in the end credits, Ehre is introducing Wirbel and Scharf to her grandfather, who is Lernen the first first-class mage! That provides some great context for Ehre's battle with Fern in the first arc when Ehre says "It's like fighting my grandfather." But most importantly, we see Sein relaxing on a beach with ... could it be an older woman? They've announced that Madhouse is doing a second season (they almost never do!), but no date yet. That's fine, I hope they take their time to get it as right as they did the first season. Thank you so much for sharing your reactions with us!

Serie cares about her apprentices, and she doesn't want to let anyone close that would balk at her or be scared of her. First class mages are the people the Continental Magic Association sends to the toughest situations and to investigate the strangest reports. They get a spell from Serie, and she has to invest a little bit of herself in them. No wonder she wanted to vibe check them when Sense brought her such a large amount of candidates.

To be remembered is to be part of someone's life or be etched in history. Serie banned Frieren so her name will be on record for at least a thousand years, truly a tsun-tsun-tsun. Something pretty interesting is that Frieren's perspective of time has been represented to us before in quick flashbacks or the passage of time, but when she met Himmel and Ferm, time seemed to slow down. You can kind of see it as a progression from Flamme > Himmel > Fern, like planting a seed, watering it, and seeing it grow.

Fern really just asked for prestidigitation as her reward, lol. For those not in the D&D scene, Prestidigitation does what Fren is doing, cleaning and scenting her clothes. It is a cantrip level spell. Which literally means its a baby spell.

A little nugget: In the previous episode Frieren said that Serie's intuition was never wrong, and during the meeting scene between Serie and the rest of the first class mages she said that while Denken could probably take Frieren in a fight, she doubted he would ever get the chance. A prediction that proved to be right as Frieren refused to fight him in this episode.
