This isn't the kind of test we thought it'd be and its going pretty smooth for the most part! Wonder how much trouble fake Frieren is going to give team Denken aaaand who will real Frieren & Fern face 🤔

"This test seems easy." No further comment.

Seeing you convince yourselves that this was going to be a 1v1 tournament style second test just because of the chunin exam was very funny. A couple of comments on this episode: I like to think that Scharf's fighting style is 100% due to Frieren popularizing the field-of-flowers spell because she keeps leaving perfectly circular fields of flowers everywhere. So Scharf thought, "wow there's this spell that can create a field of flowers at very little mana cost, now if I can figure out how to turn flower petals into metal and control them that would enable me to fight anywhere! No need to depend on rock or water or whatever." It makes sense for Frieren to open chests that the Mikheit spell says are mimics. She's living for thousands of years ("you're young" said Kraft to the 1000+ year old elf), she'll definitely come across hundreds of chests that test as mimics. So rolling that 1% chance will pay off a few times. She's also resistant to mimic-bites and can get out of them on her own, even if it leads to a bad hair day. It does seem that she finds it scary to be caught by mimics, though, so her having to psych herself up before opening them also makes sense. It's still funny, don't get me wrong.

just to clarify: Denken and Methode didn't think that another test taker was creating the clones, they were speculating about an individual at the heart of the dungeon that might be causing that and about what the nature of said individual could be (humanoid/demon/monster etc.) - they could be wrong of course but I'm just talking about what the two of them were assuming in the episode xD

lmao we did kinda convince ourselves huh 😂 but heeey we are along for this labyrinth ride tooo! Can definitely see Scharf's flower technique being inspired by Frieren! Also good point about Frieren and mimics, it's probably just another tuesday for her

Ton, the guy who went in first on his own, seems very doomed. But maybe he's just really confident! Or an idiot. It's not too surprising Kanne and Lawine wouldn't want to team up with the guy that was trying to kill them 2 days ago! It's too bad we didn't get to see more of what Lange could do before she was used to demonstrate the safety golem. She had a very magical girl looking wand. Maybe she'll have better luck in 3 years at the next exam. Also, how cool was Methode's barrier that absorbs the power of the incoming damage and returns to sender, that she used vs the Gargoyle? If only Sein had stuck with the party, maybe he could have met her. Thanks for the fun reaction! I look forward to next week.
