The Dark One at the beginning of this episode was Zoso, the Dark One that Rumple killed in Season 1 to obtain his powers. The walking broom and the Sorcerer's Hat are from the aminated film, Fantasia. Will Scarlet is a character from OUAT In Wonderland, the spinoff show that falls in between Seasons 3 and 4 of OUAT.

1st, are you saying that you have never seen Fantasia?! That is blasphemy! 2nd, I have a theory (it could as well be wrong) that Rumple placed a curse on Hook's hand when he reattached it to affect his actions and then lied when he removed it to mess with Hook's hand.
