So I have few good and some less good news :D

The good:

  • It prints!
  • Assembly on the frame went as excepted
  • Safety margins when extruder is full left or full right are perfect
  • Print surface is 240x205mm (the red perimeter on the image)
  • Print surface on MK2(S) might go up to 210mm on Y axis

Less good news:

  • On MK2.5(S) and MK3(S) the Pinda is getting very close to the little screw on the back of the heated bed (those to align the still sheet) during MBL and when using the max possible surface. There is also a chance to damage the Pinda if you move the bed by hand with the Pinda very close to the bed and on the axis of the screws
  • I can reach the bed calibration points but I don't have margin for the calibration algorithm to make the little circle to find those points.
  • Pinda height is annoying to set it but feasible

Next steps:

I will try to optimize the Pinda position. It is very tight so I will also see if we can use a completely different position.

I hope to start some real print soon, for now all I did is those beautiful single layer squares :-D

EDIT: I finally could grab 5 more mm on the Y axis, we now have 205mm on Y axis on MK2.5(S) and MK3(S).

I wonder if we can trim the bed screw just long enough to keep it align the steel sheet.

Yes, that was my idea too. Trimming the screws. We only need 1 or 2mm lenght above the bed.
