Raynor was confused as hell about Mei and Kiana's behaviour. It's like they are plotting something, but he can’t put his finger on what.

These females are strange creatures. After getting burned by a hardcore lesbian, he isn’t that easily swayed anymore!

As he was thinking about this, Mei was the one who was leading the way while Kiana was a few steps behind him.

The teen didn’t see Kiana's expression as she was behind him, but the girl was extremely nervous about what was going to happen.

The white-haired girl has an idea of what Mei will do. It's a similar idea to hers. They both are thinking of foregone their friendship to make this work. After being traumatised by Herrscher of Stars, they need to stop his ascension on the side of Honkai by any means necessary. 

Mei is ready to do this just from participating in that fight; she doesn’t see what Kiana saw after. Raynor’s powers were absurd in the later stages of the battle. He was able to harness his rage to power his Honkai energy, which gave him an endless amount of power.

In the end, she was the only surviving being, as he killed her and himself at the very end. Or at least that's what Kiana thinks.

“First, I would like to clarify myself.” Mei proceeded to speak the moment they arrived at the school's rooftop.

 “There is no need for you to tell me anything, Mei-senpai.” Raynor sighed as he rubbed the back of his head. What was with these Japanese girls and their obsession with explaining themselves on the roof, of all things? 

“No, I insist. I do not wish you to misunderstand me.” Mei was getting a little pushy here, which made Raynor frown.

“I am interested in men, not females. Whatever Kiana has told you is not true. I am bearing with her because it’s simply rude to send someone away.” 

Kiana, behind Raynor, grimaced as she felt that someone just stabbed her heart with a spike.

‘I thought I got through her, but I suppose that reveal destroyed all that hard work.’ 

The white-haired girl thought that Mei saw that ugly side of hers when Herrscher of Stars descended and revealed how Kiana was treating males. 

That one was not enough to break the bonds they had created—that is until Raynor killed them like ants. 

“Listen, your preferences are not my business. You can like whatever you want.” The teen sighed in annoyance as he massaged his forehead. He was getting tired of these games.

Seeing that he was getting more annoyed made the pair sweat in panic. 

But then they took a sharp breath of relief as Herrscher of Stars was the 9th one to descend. They are in the clear for a while.

“Y-Yes, I know, I just want to clarify that!” She then bowed to him.

“Please accept my offer. I would like to be your girlfriend!” 

“Huh?” Raynor raised his eyebrow when he heard that. Before he could decline, she continued to speak.

“Before you decline, please let me show you the perks of having a girlfriend, at least for a week. I'm not insisting on anything extra; think of this as a trial run.” Mei said in a very serious tone, which weirded the hell out of him!

‘What is with these creatures…’

“....Why do you care so much?” He asked as he couldn’t take it anymore.

“It’s a female thing. Kiana is clueless as she doesn’t see the value.”

‘Neither did I before stabbed to death and crushed to atoms.’ Mei said this part to herself.

“...” 

Raynor didn’t reply; he just stared at her, and she stared at him. She was not backing down.

‘She is not blushing. Does she think it's some sort of job she has to do?’  He pondered on her behaviour.

For a second, he wondered what the catch was. He wouldn’t learn what was going on if he declined.

So he will accept but will not raise his hopes. He wants to see what these females are plotting.

“Fine. It's a week, no more, no less. However, the moment I see it getting annoying or you wasting too much of my time, I will call this off.” 

“My thanks. Then, tomorrow, I will bring you a lunch box.” Mei nodded, this time with a small blush on her cheeks.

‘Hmm, does she have a high tolerance bar or something?’ 

He nodded back before turning around and walking away. Before he left, he said ‘later’.

“...That was nerve-wracking.” Kiana softly said a minute later as she made sure he was gone.

“...Kiana, you should transfer to St.Freya and become a Valkyrie.” Mei immediately went to the point.

“Umm? Why?” The white-haired girl was confused.

“To fight Honkai, to be the best Valkyrie there ever was. That was your dream, no?” The purple-haired girl said as she looked in the distance. She wasn’t even looking at Kiana when she said that. 

“...Mei-senpai, I won’t do that. What is the point of Valkyries after what we saw? He destroyed the world in less than a day.” Kiana said with a resigned sigh. 

“True. But that's an issue. If you are always close, how will he lower his guard?” Mei said, looking forward. She saw him walking away.

For a second, she had flashbacks of meeting him for the first time. 

Back then, she was already Herrscher of Thunder. She thought that she had finally gained the power to protect Kiana.

But then he appeared, sent her flying from the city of Coral, killed Durandal and then Herrscher of Ice, and took the Herrscher Core.

By the time she realised what happened, the entire autonomous Island of Coral had ceased to exist. 

“Mei-senpai, I am sure we can think of something. Maybe—” Kiana’s eyes widened as she got an idea! “- I can become his second Girlfriend!”

Mei snorted, and there was a small smile on her lips.

“You should first make him forgive you for all the things you did. Otherwise, whatever we do is pointless.” Mei said with a knowing look; she knew these things from experience.

Kiana’s mood dropped instantaneously. She was right. It’s pointless to plan anything if he will never forgive her.

The next day, Raynor was about to pack his box lunch, but he stopped when he remembered that Mei was supposed to make food for him.

He didn’t trust her enough to believe her words fully, so he took some money just in case. He would have too much food if he packed his lunchbox and she brought one for him. 

And he is not planning to give anything to THAT girl!

Regardless, as he left his house, the first thing he saw was a white-haired girl waiting for him.

“...What are you doing here?” Raynor asked with a frown.

“Waiting for you~ let’s go to school together~” Kiana, with a bright smile, offered to walk with him.

But the teen had a suspicious look.

“Fine, it’s not like I can send you away,” he replied. There was still some suspicion in his eyes as he wondered what the end goal of this was.

Still, even if Kiana explained her end goal, he would never believe her. 

‘You are going to become a world-ending threat! An apocalypse bringer!  The only way to save you is to flood you with positive emotions!’ 

Just thinking alone makes Kiana cringe. How silly this sounds!

“...I am not that bad! I know I never properly thanked you before, so I decided to start contributing back.” The white-haired girl brightly smiled as she told him.

Her over-the-top bright smile, which he used to see directed at Mei, is now directed at him, making him even more suspicious! What is with this 180-degree change? Over a single night!

It's insane!

“Did Mei force you to act like this?” He asked with a frown.

“Eh? No! It’s on my own volition!”

“Uh-huh…”

Kiana started to pout at him when she saw him not believe a thing she was saying.

“...Hey, I said I am sorry!”

“...Sorry, won’t fix a hole in my wallet or give back all those lost hours.” 

She immediately whimpered, seeing his pissed-off look. 

He was right. She drained him quite a bit.

“...Then what can I do to pay it back?” She asked him with a serious look. It was serious enough to make him believe her just a little bit.

“You can start by thinking how to be useful.” 

“Okay! I can give you a massage! Or we can cuddle. I am good with sports, and I can do some manual labour for you.” Kiana immediately started to think of things out loud.

“Cuddle? Where did that come from!?” He exclaimed with some disbelief.

“W-Why not?” 

‘You, after all, ended life on the whole planet just because you thought we couldn’t be together.

…

Wait, does that mean he has a huge crush on me?’ 

Kiana realised this after giving it some thought. 

“Are you thinking some female nonsense the moment Mei thinks of asking me out? Now you need to do it?”

‘No! he can’t misunderstand me here!’

“It’s in reverse! She pointed out, I tried to fix it, but you ignored me!” 

“...Your 180-degree change in behaviour patterns question your flippant character on things.” 

Kiana grimaced upon hearing that. 

‘Yes, returning from a dead future gives different perspectives.” 

“It’s not flippant, Mei-senpai opened my eyes. That’s all there is.”

“Uh-huh.” 

The white-haired girl deadpanned when she heard his sarcastic reply. 

“Hmph! If you don’t believe it, then I will give you my first k-kiss.”

“W-What?” He looked at her, but that’s what Kiana needed as she moved in and kissed him on the lips. It was a quick one. She rushed away the moment she was done, leaving behind a stupefied Raynor.

“Target identified.” A silver-haired girl with silver eyes looked through binoculars. She saw Raynor walking behind Kiana, who was blushing a storm.

“Kiana Idiotka, what is she thinking.” 

After lowering her binoculars, she pulled out her sniper rifle. 

Before she can target Raynor, a sword is put to her neck.

“I wouldn’t do that, Bronya-chan.” 

The girl’s eyes widened as she looked at the source of a familiar voice.

It was Mei.

“...Mei-senpai… you…” Bronya was shocked to see that Mei was here and she had her powers back!

What Bronya saw was Herrscher of Thunder! 

Mei placed her finger on her lips as she dismissed her form. By doing so, her weapon disappeared as well.

“I am around 40%. The core is not fully formed yet.” 

“Bronya understands, but why stop? This man becomes the most dangerous Herrscher we have ever seen!” The silver-haired girl was confused.

“That’s because we want to recruit him to our cause of stopping Honkai,” Mei replied to her question while looking away towards where Raynor should be walking with Kiana right now.

Mei has no idea how to feel about this situation. But there should not be that many guys who wouldn’t say no to having two girlfriends. The only small issue is that he is suspicious of Kiana and, in turn, of her. 

However, she trusts the white-haired girl and whatever she has planned.

“...That is a dangerous train of thought, Mei-senpai.”

“We have figured out how to control our powers, Bronya-chan. Kiana-chan has mastered a form beyond anything we have seen. But, even so, Raynor Valeron has achieved mastery over his power far greater than anything we have seen. According to Kiana, he has mastered all four powers he acquired in less than a day.”

Bronya looked annoyed even more. She trained for days to grasp the powers of Reason! Yet, this guy grasped faster than her!?

“We need him. So, don’t try that again, Bronya-chan.” Mei requested with a ‘smile’, but her eyes were red. Such a ‘nice’ request made the girl have some sweat on her forehead.

‘That’s a threat.’
