Worldbuilding: Centaurs (Patreon)

Today we're going to start delving into the species of this place, and we're going to start with centaurs! Like all species on this continent, centaurs exist in all four quarters, but they have a quarter where they proliferate more strongly. And that's the Autumn Quarter. The Autumn centaurs are what I'm going to be focused on. The Autumn Centaurs exist without any central authority. Instead they're organized roughly into family-oriented clans that each have their own ruling pair. The centaurs of Autumn are very isolationist, even amongst clans, and rarely trust outsiders or even other clans. The human half of the centaurs are biologically transferred to kin, but the animal half isn't genetic at all. It's magically selected by some unknown force. The only constant is that the animal half is some kind of ungulate. That means it could be anything from horses to cows to zebras to dik dik to elephants or even aardvarks. Heck, it would be rare but even manatees fall under the ungulate class. (I doubt they'd live in Autumn, though!) And now for $25+ Patrons: create a centaur!
