Even during the period of the cultural festival, classes are still being held because this is a place called school.
A day before the cultural festival, those classes would be canceled and we spend the whole day preparing for the cultural festival, but until then, the morning classes are held just like normal.

“Hurry up and become after school...”

For people who are excited about the school festival, like the broken Tadashi in front of my eyes, this class period seems to be very painful.

For me, I recognize that this class period is also important, so I take it seriously. Or rather, the next test is the one I have to take revenge for Hiuri.
Even though Hiuri helped me so much, my performance on the last test and the test before that was mediocre. I understand that my grades won't suddenly improve, but I want to work a little harder.

“The next class will be in another classroom. Chemistry experiment.”
“Experiment!? Yahhoo!”

And people who find classes a chore are often excited by experiments.

...

“I'll tell you guys while you're having lunch—”

After the morning class ends, Tadashi, who has become energetic, stands in the front.
Everyone hasn't even started eating yet, and I also just washed my hands.

“Today we will divide into teams, so please choose among these; outfits, cooking, small props, big props, and customer service.”

After saying all that, Tadashi comes towards me.

“Then, shall we have lunch?”

Tadashi and I often eat together.

“What are you going to choose, Tadashi?”
“I'm the general manager after all. So I’ll help out where we’re short on manpower.”

Tadashi is excellent in everything other than using his head.
He has the qualities of a leader and is perfect for the role of motivating people.

“What are you going to choose, Kazuki? Is it customer service?”
“I won't. There's no way I would.”

In the first place, I don't have the face or personality for customer service.
If I were to serve customers, I would be that much less popular. Don't say I have low self-esteem, it's true.

“Can Kazuki cook?”
“Like most people. But I can't make anything too fancy, so I don't think it's suitable for a cafe.”

I originally took home economics classes, so I was able to cook fairly well.
After dating Hiuri, I learned all sorts of cooking for her. I'm not saying I can make those, but I think I can do it to some extent.

“But can you make props and stuff?”
“Compared to everything else, I think I can. But, I think a lot of people will gather there because of that...”

When it comes to making props, whether we have many or few people, it won’t be a problem.
However, customer service and cooking requires a certain number of people. If the number of people is unevenly distributed, you might end up being assigned to a job you did not want.

“On the day of the event, we will be working in shifts, we want to properly see the programs of other classes after all. That’s why we are planning to increase the number of people working on things like customer service.”

We haven't decided what we'll be serving at the cafe, so it's hard to make a final decision yet.
But that is precisely why increasing the number of people would make sense.

“Kazuki too, aren’t you also going to be going around with the Black Thorn Princess?”
“Eh? I wonder about that.”

We haven't made any particular promises.
Besides, the promises made in dreams are not guaranteed to be reflected in reality. Having said that, I don't have enough courage to ask her out in real life.

“Isn’t she almost like a girlfriend now?”
“We’re friends.”

In real life that is.

“Well, whatever. Just think about it, okay?”

...

“So... how did it go in the end?”
“I’m more or less on the small props. But if something happens, I’ll join the cooking team.”

There were fewer applicants for small props than I expected. So, the role was easily decided without any rock-paper-scissors.

However, there aren't as many people who can cook in my class as I expected, so if someone takes a day off, I’d end up joining the cooking team in their place.

“Well, that means you’d be behind the scenes, huh.”
“That’s right. It seems like they’re going to push some chores on me that day.”

Staff other than customer service are also needed.
I can't serve customers, but as long as I don't have to talk, I have no problem coming to the front.

“By the way, where are you going to do it? You can't even cook anything resembling cooking in a classroom, right?”
“Outside, near the space where we can use fire, it seems we’re going to specially set up a tent there. The big props guys were screaming.”

After all, they have to make props that can be used outside.
Also, it seems that the big props guys are the one in charge of setting up the tent. During that time, we’d be carrying the necessary props but... setting up a tent is certainly hard work.

“I guess I won’t see Kazuki-kun serving customers.”
“Impossible. But we don't cook in a hidden place either, so you might be able to see me cooking.”

That's only if the person in charge of cooking is absent though.

“Kazuki-kun, do you have anyone to look around with during the cultural festival?”
“Tadashi is the general manager, so I guess I don’t have any at the moment.”
“I see.”

...Ah, is this going towards an invitation!?
But even if we make a promise in the dream, I don't know if it will actually work... Also, since I have my memories, I can match them, but Hiuri can't.

I tried to ask her what she meant, but before I could, Hiuri started eating the macarons I gave her.
