As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, Lucas could have sworn that the room was spinning. He realised that something was reflecting stars across the blue lit walls, giving the illusion it was night time. A starry globe positioned like a disco ball hung from the centre of the room, it was the only source of light.

“This is the nursery.” Violet said, responding to his earlier question.

‘Nursery,’ why had she taken him to a nursery, Lucas wondered.

His vision was quickly tuning in to his surroundings; he could make out the shapes of cribs that lined one side of the room, shelves with books and toys, bean bag chairs on top of a large vibrant play mat.

“Why are we here?” He asked quietly as she led him across the room.

“This is where all the little ones go when the adults accompanying them need some time off.” She responded.

Lucas was feeling incredibly uneasy, but something about Violet holding his hand urging him forward kept him grounded. He really wanted to run away and find Zoe but his instincts felt rather hazy and off.

“I’m an adult you realise; I’m not a little kid.” Lucas said, feeling silly that he felt the need to explain himself.

“Oh, really?”

Violet suddenly tightened her grip on Lucas’s hand, he was rather glad the room was so dark and she wouldn’t see him blushing.

They walked across the carpet when Violet stopped and knelt down at Lucas’s feet.

“What are you doing?” he cried.

“Shhhh.” Violet hummed. “Lower your voice; I don’t want you waking up any of the other little ones.”

Lucas tensed up, he was filled with an uncomfortable sense of dread, he stood their awkwardly watching as she untied his shoes and pulled them off with his socks.

“The carpet’s nice and fluffy isn’t it?”

Lucas’s toes twitched across the floor, he had to agree with her the carpet did feel nice under his feet.

“Are you feeling, sleepy? The cribs are very comfortable; you look like you could do with a nap.”

She was right, Lucas was feeling sleepy, and he wasn’t sure how he hadn’t noticed that before now.

“I’m alright.” He told her sheepishly.

“Are you sure?” Violet gave him a warm smile. “You will feel much better after a short nap; I promise I will wake you up once your friend is ready for you.”

This was all rather strange; Lucas bit his lower lip anxiously before nodding his head.

“I thought so, let’s get you ready then.”

She started to walk him over towards a crib but stopped midway and gently pushed her hand against his bottom.

“Sweetheart why aren’t you in diapers?” She asked.

“Huh.” Lucas gasped. “I don’t wear diapers.”

“Are you sure, that’s a shame then, maybe I was wrong and you are too old to be taking a nap here.”

Lucas stood there watching Violet, feeling lost for words, everything felt so strange and she was right the crib did look so inviting.

“Can you show me you need diapers little one?”

Violet lowered herself to her knees so she was staring up at him, and grabbed his hand once more.

“I don’t need them.” Lucas replied. “Can I just go?”

“You could,” Violet said. “You can go back to your friend; I can change your bracelet so it correctly reads your age.”

She fondled the band across his arm wordlessly.

“Or if you can find a way to show me that you’re just a little kid that needs his diapers, I can take care of you and make you feel very special.”

Lucas’s lower lip quivered, his whole body vibrated with a slight tremor. He couldn’t make up his mind; everything felt fuzzy, why was this woman swooning over him like he was a child. Even stranger, why was it making him feel this way, he shouldn’t even be here. The rational side of his brain was screaming out for him to leave, take the strange woman up on her offer and join Zoe. But if he did that, would she force him to ride the rollercoaster with her. The only thing that had saved him was his band reading the wrong age, if she fixed it then there was nothing to stop him being allowed to ride.

He tossed and turned his options, all the while Violet was waiting patiently gently stroking his hand with her finger.

“Ohhhhh, I see you’ve made up your mind.” She swooned.

Lucas looked down, his mouth hung agape as he saw that he was wetting himself. His pants grew darker as his urine flooded through his thin underpants and the wet spot grew between his legs.

No matter how hard he strained he couldn’t stop the flow from spreading as he wet himself helplessly. His pee rained down noisily as it splattered onto the carpet, he suddenly grew even more worried that he could have stained it.

“Don’t worry, I will clean it up.” Violet told him, as if she had perhaps read his mind.

When the flow had come to an end, Lucas hadn’t the chance to fully appreciate the predicament he was in before Violet had him in toe leading him to the opposite side of the nursery. He was staring at his feet in shame and didn’t look upwards until he was stopped in front of a large changing table.

She began wordlessly pulling away his sodden clothes from his body before she gently placed a firm hand onto his bare bottom and pushed him upwards onto the padded table.

Lucas laid back and watched Violet as she moved backwards and forwards producing a large diaper that looked big enough to fit him.

He wanted to question why she had diapers that size, but the words never left his lips before he had already raised his bottom and she was sliding it underneath him.

“Good baby.” She cooed.

As Lucas sat their having his private parts cleaned and oiled, having baby powder sprinkled over his crotch he couldn’t stop thinking what would happen if Zoe were to see him like this. His mind drew back to his earlier thoughts of how independent he felt to her now that he was living on his own in an apartment. But having his balls coated in cream and the diaper pulled up tight over his groin, he was clearly wrong.

He wanted to tell Violet to stop, but there was no going back now the diaper was already tapped shut and she was pulling him up to his feet.

“Aren’t you just darling.” She said, playfully pinching his cheek.

“Let’s get you to bed.” She said, gently pulling him off onto the floor.

The entire walk back to the cribs Lucas crinkled noisily with each step he took. The diaper was quite thick and heavy, it caused him to waddle as he moved. Violet held tightly onto his hand, only letting go as she gently urged him into the crib, her hand pushing against his diaper as he moved onto the mattress.

When he was safely inside the crib he looked back only to see her raising the bars, effectively imprisoning him inside.

“You look very cute in your crib.” She smiled.

Lucas avoided eye contact with her; he was feeling incredibly ashamed with himself for getting into this situation. He couldn’t stay mad for long however, he felt himself swaying on his knees as sleep was getting ready to overtake him.

“Goodness me, look how sleepy you are, just lie your head down and go to sleep baby.”

Lucas obliged, he didn’t really have much choice in the matter; he laid his head down against a fluffy pillow and felt the sheet pulled up tight against him.

He was barely awake, his eyes fluttering moments away from falling asleep when something gently pushed against his lips. He opened his mouth ever so slightly, inviting whatever it was inside. His lips hit a plastic guard and he realised he was sucking on a pacifier before sleep finally over took him and he closed his eyes.

“That’s a good baby; off to dream land, enjoy your nap.” Violet said, leaving him with a smile.
