[Life of Tara] Complete (Patreon)

For a lot of you who have been following me for some time, you no doubt remember my Life of Haley story! 

It was one of the first stories that I wrote on DeviantArt that had a beginning and end. It sort of helped "launch" the stories that were set outside of the stories that I wrote (and occasionally, still write for!) over on Writing.com

It's several years old now, but the characters are some of my favorites to come back to.

Recently, I opened up the High Calorie Collection over on Writing.com, where a very talented writer named Mr. Phoenix works with me occasionally - specifically on other Life of Haley paths.

I woke up this morning at 6am and was consumed with the idea of "what if Haley's sister Tara was the one who had to come home instead?" and I just had to write it. 

It's very difficult to explain, and I'm sorry to say that it delayed my work on Coven of Calahree for the day. But, as an apology here's more than 10 thousand words of an AU fic starring my own characters.

You could also read it all over on Writing.com! But with how buggy that site has been, I figure that it'd be better for me to post it here.

It's a straightforward AU fic where nothing has changed except the main character. That means that some of the characters in this story are going to act a bit differently, due to different circumstances. Some of them, like Courtney, don't even appear. Meanwhile, Tara gets along swimmingly with everyone's grumpy goth waitress. What's more, I tried to keep to the original style of the story, so it reads a little choppy.

Included here is the original first half of Life of Haley, too! This way you can see where things differ, and where they're the same.

I hope that an extra 10k words makes up for a few days' more when it comes to waiting on CoC! Don't worry, I'll have this update out before the end of the month!
