Knight of Flowers (Patreon)

Hi so this is the big baby who had me burnt out for months. Well.. you know what yeah I was burned out after this despite already being burnt out by University !!

This piece was for the classics but make it gay zine by Nova and Mali!! This piece took me so long it resulted in me going way past the deadline which we negotiated on a reduction in pay..... I COMPLETELY underestimated how long this would take me. I am NEVER EVER planning anything so grandiose so poorly ever again, especially with my perfectionism. 

Considering this piece took me a hefty 32 hours to complete - minus the stuff I didn't record (so it was more like 40 hours probably). OH AND ABT THE RECORDING.. I recorded almost all of the process minus the initial shading and stuff. That is mostly due to the mess that was going down while I was creating this - my tablet pen stopped working and it set me back like 2 weeks on this piece. This was a rollercoaster now I'm looking back on it. I'm honestly so grateful I'm not there anymore.....

But but back to  my orignal point, this is when I decided maybe doing voiceovers / a story time for this piece instead of music because.... this will either be split into 2 videos or just be an hour long. I'm not sure how you all feel about that. I will be talking about the whole thing in the video.

I'm still not sure if I will put this on youtube (for the public) because of how long it is. But yes, this piece went through a lot and I put soooo much into it, it just prolonged my burnout for even longer I just didn't want to look at a screen ever again lmao

BUT LESS ABOUT ALL THAT -- who is your favourite and why? the original piece had so many flowers, though I couldn't label each one, so I went with what was best. My personal favourite is the peonies (the flower on the right hand side with the stretch marks), I felt like I got their design from the very start and it looked exactly how I envisioned! 

Oh and a side note - the orignal piece is called The Knight of Flowers by Georges Rochegrosse. And it wasn't the first piece I was assigned either. The zine itself is full of literally AMAZING art work I wish I could be louder - in real life about it but you know *vaguely gestures to homophobia*, I wish I was more active during the preorder period but I was too busy trying to get this done to do any real promotion, but that is defnitely one thing I regret ! Once the book is released I will be promoting it as much as possible.
