Hello again!  Thank you for your patience last week, I wanted to get that page up and didn't really have the time to spare for extra minicomics, but this week I wanted to get back into the swing of things so I've got two new strips for you.  I also have a fairly large gamedev art post to write up after this post, so keep an eye out for that, but for now I'll go right in and share the new minis with you.

#038: Life in Tombstone's infirmary is one of the fun unique angles of Dead Winter I've been exploring in these minis.  Medical knowledge is modern but medical tools are less so, it makes for an interesting challenge treating people's various ailments.  One of Alice's things is she always wanted to be a surgeon, but went into nursing instead, so Dr. Parker is here to help teach her a bit of the trade.  The notes for this one were "Alice stitches a smiley face on someone", so I needed a reason for her to be opening someone up in the first place.  I'd thought about all sorts of objects but they all felt like they implied an autopsy rather than survivable surgery, and then I thought about my old friend Archimedes, the dove who likes to hide in people's guts, so they make a cameo appearance in Tombstone.

#039: This one is meant to just be a quiet cozy moment in the apartment above the Yummy Mart.  In the spectrum of places to be left in the wake of the hungry dead a video store in the mall is probably not a priority for anyone to loot, but combined with the fact that Tombstone is a place with working electric generators it's suddenly a time capsule of media to watch in the comfort of the home!  I wanted to connect the strip to an old anime that I felt was worth highlighting so I picked Iria, who was a cool tough and capable lady protagonist.  Alice has a copy of Ghostbusters 1 in her hands.  With a full duffelbag they've got plenty of movies to watch, they just might need to swap out their battery now and then.

I actually had a third strip almost prepared for today but I got halfway done with it before my bedtime came around.  I didn't want to push myself so it's half-ready for next week's batch.  I'll have more progress towards the next page to share as well, so until then, thanks for reading!  Stay safe out there, and be well.
