Hello hello!  Once again I've got a batch of new minicomics to share with you!  I posted #010 officially today and I've got minis #027 to 029 to share today, which means if I can do three more by next week I'll have 12 posted officially and 32 in the tank, which puts my buffer right at the 20-strip mark I've been aiming for!  This week's batch have been fun, so without further ado I'll jump right to sharing them with you!

#027: The medical gang share this page together.  Alice has always been the most cheerful member of the team so I wanted to do a riff on how unearthly the effect could be, like she has the burden of some incredible power.  Also when I write little scenes in the infirmary I like to put hardware or power tools in the background, like hand saws or hand drills.  Medical technology is something that took a hit in the transition to the new normal of this world so medicine is a bit more rugged than one might expect.  Fortunately the team has the perfect member to sugar-coat the bitter pill of the situation.

#028: This one's a little shot of lore!  I want to try to keep the minis mostly jokes but every now and then I think it's fun to play with a loose end in the comic.  For this page I wanted to write from the perspective of the other factions, like in game terms they would be facing the four playable characters over and over and I'd imagine in that context there'd be some sort of mythos about them, like you keep putting quarters in the arcade machine and they keep coming at you.  I also wanted to expand on aspects of each character in a way that makes them sound mysterious and cool, like aspects that are established about them but maybe aren't always on the surface.

-Lizzie's body knowing no rest ties to both her constantly having to wake up early to work double shifts on her day off and her habit of surviving situations that by all rights should have killed her.  She steps across her own grave.

- Alice's light shines through a sad gloom. In her flashbacks it's shown that all the people she is close to, the people she loves all seem to die, so she carries on as a candle in their memory.  Their memories weigh on her but they do not drag her down.

- Monday is a killer but he is not a mindless one, he has a list and a specific set of grudges against men who have cultivated fields of wealth and influence.  His intention is to harvest those crimson fields.

- Lou possesses a brilliant mind. He sees solutions in problems with a glance, and has the power to mend broken things.  In a way Lou is the glue that binds the whole team together, as without him these four broken shards would not have stuck together the way they presently are.

That's my interpretation of different aspects of each character.  But the last note on this page is a lowkey reveal- Lizzie's old fiance Trevor makes his first reappearance in a long time, alongside Mary, the girl he ran into in an intermission page.  They're both wearing yellow rain ponchos too.  Hmmm.

#029: Following up on the cool lore strip and the somewhat wordy medical strip I wanted to dial back and end on just a fun goof.  Lizzie and Monday don't like each other so their pair-ups are fun in that they have to work together regardless.  Lizzie's thing with the syllables is actually just me repurposing a couple tweets I made a while ago where I myself was trying to cook up the longest syllable I could pronounce.  They're all speakable, so I recommend having some fun trying to say "tszchmyaelntzchedth" out loud to yourself.  You gotta really bunch up the front end and let the back nine unfurl like half a slinky.

That's it for this week's batch of minis.  I will have more to share next week, in addition to the main comic.  We should also have some new gamedev items to share next week as well, so be sure to stick around for that.  Thank you for reading!  I hope you have a pleasant weekend.
