Today in continuing the October theme with vintage comic book stories starring notable animated characters, here is a double drop of potion for this special witches' brew! (Both pages are less than 8 pages long, so two stories seems to fit well, especially those with similar themes.)

The first is a story featuring Spooky the Tuff Little Ghost in Casper the Friendly Ghost #25 (October 1954), published by Harvey Comics. For his educated guess, animator/cartoonist Milton Knight has attributed the artist to animator Bill Hudson. Hudson drew many comic book stories while also animating for Famous Studios, starting in the 1940s. (The cover is drawn by Steve Muffatti, a head animator/de-facto director at the studio that perfected the "Harvey style" when adapting the Paramount/Famous characters into comics.)

The second story is a Chip 'n' Dale story, where the two chipmunks spot Brer Fox and Brer Bear disguised as witches to pilfer food and the Seven Dwarfs' diamond cart. Featured in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #240 (September 1960), this feature is drawn and inked by the prolific Jack Bradbury, a former animator for Disney and Warner Bros. who quit animation and went exclusively into comic book work.
