First, there's no update because I've lost the only save file for the Sweaty Meltdown game project I had during a power outage Sunday morning. I've explained it before in a post. There was no backup or other save files for the work I started in July 2023 using the model of Stinky Validation. I can't explain why I didn't make a single save file outside of the one I was using.

I'm gonna show you what this update was about with pictures.

This is unfinished work but you get the idea.

---

To make it short about the loss, no more fighting system and I have to script the game from start using the model of Stinky Validation. It's not THAT bad but it would take me a lot of time to get back to where I was.

The fighting system is something I wanted because it added a new element to the game and it could have been used it in future games. BUT it's not tasty to fight, unless a giant foot if you're into that. I'm still on a quest to find the perfect new element to make the tasty games even better than just a point and click adventure with random mini-games and stinky graphics.

In last poll half of the Patrons voted that they totally need their stinky foot fix and I don't want to disappoint. I said it before, I think that I went off-road in term of tasty content. I want and should focus on stinky shoes/sweaty feet/dirty socks, this is the origin of the tasty. Maybe I went too deep into the tastyverse lore and it should stay in the back as a decoration and not become the main dish.

Here's where I am:

  • 1 -I could redo the game but it would take me months.
  • 2 -I could redo the game without the fighting gameplay but the story was around the fighting.
  • 3 -I disappear.
  • 4 -I forget this project and only keep the title. You ever heard about a secret project that didn't make it? The Nintendo-Playstation collab? Perfect Dark reboot? Half Life 3? This game will join them. Chloe is alive, Canyams and Maxi aren't dead, nobody care about Isaure, Benjamin Willard is just another one of Avril's Ex. A new beginning, under the benches of the ZBZ locker room during a charity basketball game?

Difficult choice... But I'm gonna make a routine to make a new save file every month when I post the password access. Or it will happen again...

For next month, I'm gonna take a game break and develop 4 tasty gameplay mechanics, instead, to use in future adventures. (Paige's Footman will still receive an update.)

It was a long text. Avril's Exes are really cursed. By the way, here are the results for Miss ZBZ 2024. Queen Avril, again...

I think you should just move on with a fresh project to clear this disaster from your mind. Then, perhaps in the future you can recycle a lot of the ideas you had here into something even better.

2024-05-02 01:46:23 first of all, Nr. 3 is not up for debate, your games are great! I think you should move on to a new project, as reworking something you already spend hours of work on would probably not be great for your motivation. To the second point you mentioned, for me personally, smelly adventure was the perfect mix of story/gameplay and tasty content. Something like that would be great. I personally dont need a new gameplay feature or an extensive story / lore. but in the end, you should do what it is the most fun for you, I will play and enjoy everything you cook up!
