(Also, like, has anyone noticed that our protagonists have now been forced into the final versions of the dilemmas they've been facing this whole time? From day one it's been "Will A-Xu let himself die?" and "Can Kexing be reborn into a better person?" and now we face the most dramatic and blatant versions of those core narrative questions. ::chef's kiss::)

Hnnnngh... We switched mornings, so I have to get up early with the kids tomorrow and SHOULD get to bed soonish. On the other hand, my ADHD brain never lets me fall asleep anyway. :p So I'll just get started on this piece of knitting instead, and maybe I'll get to enjoy some WOH-reactions before bedtime if I'm lucky. :D

Ohh the Lao Wen entrance and the hairpin scene are one of my favourite moments along with that Wenzhou vs the rest . Not gonna lie, ep 32 makes me angry, so I need to calm myself with some fluffy wenzhou moments.

I love that now we know who actually raised Lao Wen. I mean, aside from the murder lessons. I was always like, where did he learn his elegance from. Who gave him that book education that allows him to quote poetry all the time. I didn't see the old chief teaching him that stuff. It was Auntie! 😁

Ep. 31 is possibly my favorite. So Many Bada$$ Entrances. A-Xu's rescue. Two (2!) intimate hair combing scenes. Kexing finally accepting the path back to the human world. *sigh* And: Hi kitty!!!

Ep 31: yes, the engagement hairpin!!! From what i understand, someone giving their lover a hairpin is sometimes done when they get engaged, so wenzhou are basically married. Giving someone your hairpin is super romantic. Its unbelievable they were able to get away with that 32: i just want to gush because the close up of zzs face when he sees wkx body is my favorite moment of facial acting from zzh, you can SEE the pure DEVASTATION.

If/when you rewatch ep. 31, pay attention to Kexing's face. He uses a lot of microexpressions during the whole rescue sequence that made me really appreciate Gong Jun's acting even more. That whole exchange he has with Duan Pengju is just *chef's kiss* - I love the snarkiness ("Aw, man, you revealed my secret, gosh darn it!"). The BTS for this ep is also hilarious. Much of what is said during the conversations with Beiyuan and Wu Xi is missing context, which may have been explained if they had had more money to film additional episodes. They're basically references to Beiyuan's story in the companion book Lord Seventh, how he met Wu Xi, and how Zishu helped him escape Prince Jin (who currently thinks he's dead - Zishu mentions that in the last episode). Not critical for the purpose of this series, but fun for fans of the books. Also, there is more symbolism behind the hairpin scene (other than what you mentioned), which boils down to We Married Now.

I just watched the reaction to e31 and I feel like I have to say 2 things 1- Your cat is adorable! 2- I am disappointed that you saw a spoiler. I was looking forward to watch your reaction to all the big things that are going to happen. We collectively managed to stay quiet back when you liked ZJ 😂 I really hoped that we would keep the good work and stay spoiler free

Oh, forgot to mention: Ep. 31 is the first time Kexing acknowledges Zishu as his Shixiong / Senior Martial Brother and calls himself the 2nd (unworthy) disciple of Four Seasons Manor. Yay! 🎉 (Yes, I'm pretending ep. 32 didn't happen. 😜)

In episode 31, Lao Wen combed Axu's hair, Axu is so beautiful 🥰, Wen kexing married Axu as his wife 😍Axu: I don’t know when you will come to rescue me, but I know you will definitely come to rescue me. Wen Kexing finally give the token of love, put the hairpin on Axu’s hair 🥺🥰 sweet couple 🥺

Sad to hear you got spoiled. I think I can guess what it is, but I won’t say it. At least there aren’t that many episodes left, so you managed to stay spoiler-free for the majority of the series. Something that just occurred to me: You become Ghost Valley Chief by killing the current Chief. So does that mean that technically it should be Chengling now? Just for crack reasons, that would be hilarious. (Yes, I use humor to cope) Remember when, back in episode one, zzs forced that girl to kill herself and then saw that she was holding a hairpin that his shidi, Qin Jiuxiao, made? And how he knew from that alone that she was his lover and they were supposed to get married? Okay, just wanted to check. Nothing to see here. That shot of wkx with the red eyeliner and the hint of blood on the edges of his fan, while behind him Window Of Heaven agents fall to the ground? Peak. Peak everything. Probably my favorite shot in a series full of beautiful shots. Kudos once again to zzh’s acting. Both in general and specifically in the scene where he wakes up in the inn and for a moment lets himself believe that it was all a dream before reality comes crashing back down on him. I also want to mention that there’s a very good fanfic out there where zzs’s reaction is… a little different. More unhinged. It’s called “rage, rage against the dying of the light” by Madcap_Miss on Ao3 and I highly recommend it to everyone (who has seen the whole show). Mind the tags though.

Ok, so first: Dresden!!! ❤❤❤ Second: I love the whole rescue scene! Just... ugh, so good! Sassy WKX, bringing along the kids ("Hey darling, I adopted 18 new son's while you were away being tortured, that'll teach you never to do that again"), acknowledging the Four Seasons Manor as his sect, A-Xu near to tears ... aww, my heart. I can absolutely relate to that scream of yours :DDD THEN: the hair pin scene! I have so many feelings about that, but I'll get to that later. About the whole fight on the cliff scene I'll only say one thing for now: Gosh, A-Xu that look is a kiss! In front of all these people! My poor Victorian heart! And then later the DEVASTATION on his face when he saw WKX's body!!! T.T This is a rollercoaster of emotions and I'm getting whiplash just rewatching it. :D And it's not stopping! What with the 5 days to live medicine A-Xu just took.... 2 weeks to go!

These two eps! I love them so much (I literally say that about every episode!). 31 is indeed the episode of entrances and wow, such good ones! Wen Kexing's red robes and flying fan just get me in the heart every time, along with that pounding music. I love that as soon as Zhou Zishu comes out, Wen Kexing goes to him and just wraps an arm around him. There's a behind the scenes that show Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan *almost* look like they were about to kiss in that scene, and a kiss would've fit in there so perfectly, we were robbed! For so little time we see them (and again, we were robbed of so much of their screentime!) I really ended up falling for Prince Qi and Wu Xi so hard. I love how many out-as-they-can-be queer characters this show has in it; as ever we stand up for each other, we are friends and a whole community. I bet Jing Beiyuan is just so, so pleased that his friend Zhou Zishu has joined the family and found his own man to love. Episode 32 has so much in it to love as well. From the traditional wuxia scene of the couple standing united against all of jainghu to the multiple different conversations being had on that clifftop, this episode is probably one of the ones that hits the most differently on rewatch. I will never ever ever get over Zhou Zishu blissfully following Wen Kexing off the clifftop, completely resigned to dying with him, and how much do I love Wen Kexing seeing that and just smiling to know his Ah-Xu really loves him? Xie'er finally got what he wanted, didn't he, but he knows what's happening, now, and he's going to play along but his eyes have been opened. Too little, too late, Zhao Jing! I also love Chengling throughout this episode, but never more so than drinking that toast, I love the little face he makes! He's been such a brave little soldier, but alcohol is clearly something he hasn't developed a taste for yet.

Beautiful cat! Great reaction! The hairpin "penetration"! Thank goodness you caught it. No other English-speaking reactioner, except me, that I know of, has mentioned it before. I couldn't get over it. Priceless gift from the makers of the show. They put it all on the line. I've heard that since China has cracked down on boycotting "sissy" men and ZZH, the Word of Honor platform has relocated to Taiwan. That was a month ago, don't know what's going on now. Show-makers appear to know when they've got a good thing, no matter what the government tells them. Blessings to all.

PS, Forgive me in case you already know this, but if you find this helpful, you can reduce/alleviate any freezing or lag in your videos by storing completed videos on an external hard drive. This frees up more memory for processing during filming with the camera and filming the show at the same time. And of course for the exporting of the final copy. I know your computer is new and you're very prolific in your work, so I hope it's okay to comment. I'm not at all tech-savvy, this just did wonders for me. The best to you.

Now Non-spoilery trivia, Bi Xingming is a disciple of Lao Bi or Uncle Bi who ZZS put the nails in during episode 1. Because I didn't get that until my second watch through. And of course in the hairpin scene in ep 31 ZZS has 19 disciples when he's talking to A'Xiang and Cao Weining in ep 32 he has 18.

I cant tell if anyone mentioned this, but the scene with our favorite grandpa mourning over his lover and calling Rong Xuang their child hit different. It's sad, really. THIS CAN BE A ***SPOILER*** IF YOU'RE WATCHING LATER: but it seems to reference that Bai yi and his soulmate went through the same thing as our favorite husbands do at the end, but their story ended tragically... I haven't gotten a chance to read the novel, but I've done a bit of research and caught some things in the fandom, so I am making a conclusion.
