But the reality is that it isn't Hannibal's death that Will keeps fantasizing about, it's a particular kind of intimacy. I also need to yell about the Achilles/Patroclus comparison for a second bc you CANNOT invoke the names of the Ancient Gays™ without making things deeply and irrevocably queer. I love that Hannibal is straight up drawing Patrochilles fanart like the massive nerd he is, and then on top of that he has the audacity to directly compare Will to Patroclus like that's something you casually do with your bros. Hannibal is being so fucking clear with his gay intentions here and Will's comphet ass is just like "so u mean we're friends??". And when Will does what certain historians have done and tries to paint what Achilles and Patroclus had as only a friendship, Hannibal gently corrects him by citing one of the parts of the Iliad that even historians have a hard time explaining away as straight: "Achilles wished all Greeks would die so that he and Patroclus could conquer Troy alone." So yeah, everything's really fucking gay, as per usual with this show.

It's been a few years, I've seen a lot of great memes about this as well, but I still can't fully watch that Mason scene. Oh god, when they show him I just HAVE to look away for a few seconds. Legendary makeup crew.
