I know how all this ends and yet I still want to say it couldn't possibly get any gayer than this episode. So there's that.

I love this episode. It's such a buckwild fucking ride😂 The show has always flirted with the fantastical. It obviously takes place in a heightened reality where everyone speaks in flowery prose and serial killers create beautiful tableaux out of their murders. It has a distinctly dark fairytale feel to it imo. I'm pretty sure Bryan Fuller said that in the original draft of this episode the bird was actually dead when it was put into Sarah's chest, and yet it was somehow alive when they discovered it inside her body. Which would further play into the idea of rebirth through blood and death. I adore Margot, and I actually think Hannibal's advice to her is given with a genuine desire to help her. It's not conventional by any means, but she essentially has no way of escaping her abuser since he's rich and powerful enough to pay off any cop or judge, or bribe any number of media outlets in order to avoid a scandal or make the situation disappear entirely. Hell, considering the level of abuse she's had to endure her entire life, killing him probably would be genuinely theraputic for her. I'm not saying Hannibal's advice is moral by any means, but I do think it's given with a genuine desire to help Margot take back control of her life again. Now for the Hannigram stuff!! God, there's so many good moments between them in this episode, I could go on forever, but I'll try to limit myself. The convo in Hannibal's office where Will blatantly admits to fantasizing about killing him, and they then proceed to share heavy eye-contact as Will tells Hannibal that he'd do it /with his hands/ is...a lot to process😳🥴🥵 I also love the usage of the word "fantasize" here bc it makes it sound even more overtly sexual than it already was. That whole scene is just so fucking horny jfc, ofc talking about murdering each other is what gets these fuckers going, I'm not even remotely surprised at this point lmao. And then the last scene of the episode... Sweet fucking Christ😳😍 I remember being struck by the sheer intimacy of it the first time I watched this episode. I felt like an intruder, like I was seeing something I wasn't supposed to see, and I almost wanted to avert my eyes to give them the privacy the moment deserved. The tenderness that is on display in every inch of Hannibal's body as he carefully takes the gun from Will's fingers and then cradles his face and looks at him with utter pride and adoration is just...So Much. (I couldn't stop myself from going on a further ramble about the queer undertones here, oops) The juxtaposition between the intimacy in that scene compared to the earlier sex scene between Hannibal and Alana is just so striking imo. The scene with Alana is only intimate on a surface level, bc Hannibal still has his person-suit firmly in place and only shows her the parts of him she wants to see. The easy and conventional parts. (The heteronormative parts.) But in the scene with Will he's being completely open about his feelings. He doesn't hide the adoration he feels for Will in a moment where Will displays a clear desire and capacity for murder and violence. He doesn't try to play down his love and tenderness or pretend it's something more conventional, like the pride of a mentor. Because it's not that. Hannibal doesn't want Will as a protegé, he wants him as a partner. So he opens up, allows Will to peek behind the human-veil and see the monster that lies beneath. Idk, there's just something that feels so deeply queer about the whole thing to me, but I'm probably projecting like hell here😅

This entire comment is gold and 1000% accurate but also "That whole scene is just so fucking horny" took me OUT 😂

This is an amazing episode and there's so much to talk about in it. It's PACKED with character growth. I could go into all the Hannigram, but others will do that, so I wanna talk about Peter. I love him, and I feel SO sad for him. How awful that his social worker was ACTUALLY a psychopath with zero empathy. I mean, Hannibal doesn't have a lot, but he DOES have empathy and emotions. Ingram did not. (I get to add Ingram to my 'People Will kills/tries to kill list) One of the lines that always hits me is 'I'm sad for her and the horse. But I can only help the bird...' It's an over looked line that always makes me feel something. And I don't even know how to describe what I feel, but I understand it. I think....it's a good way to show how Peter and Will are different, in an episode that wants us to focus on how they're the same. Will is still very focused on Beverly, but he can't actually help her anymore. I hate that this episode is so great, and DARES to have a Hannibal and Alana sex scene. Your face is my face. I will, this one time, give her ONE! (you get one) exception.... cause I would totally ride Hannibal/Mads dick too. So can't fault her for that. Love Margot. She's a queen. Her and Bedelia always have such a great way of speaking. TL.DR - great episode. 2 thumbs WAY way up.

This will forever remain one of my favourite episodes of Hannibal, and the line "Is your social worker in that horse?" in combination with Hannibals facial expression is just one of the greatest moments in TV ever written. It cracks me up every damn time 😂😂😂

I remember Bryan Fuller tweeting "Starling" when the bird...shows up. Man, I hope he worked out whatever he needed to.

I remember when I first wached it. By the end of episode I was like "Just kiss already".
