You think it's one gay metaphor, but it's actually two gay metaphors!! Chickens are a v common part of a traditional Chinese dowry, so it's like Wangji was trying to get Wei Wuxian to marry him! Drunkji is my favorite and it makes me so happy to see you enjoying it :)

He is Lan JingYi. He is sassy and I love it. Also, the best boi Lan Sizhui is so cute. Yi City arc is one of my favorites. Can't wait for you to watch the whole thing. :-)

Gayness and ghostbusting is ABSOLUTELY the new vibe and it's why I love these episodes most of all. Also, props to Lan Wangji for using the silencing charm on the juniors once they started arguing - I love him. This is also the episode which really made me understand why the subs are often so crappy (and got me really into learning Mandarin) - their little "Yi, like chivalry? No, Yi, like coffin" discussion was so interesting. The quality of this series when you have a pause in the gay ghostbusting road-trip to discuss linguistics is awesome. The other two series I've seen this kind of discussion happening were Nirvana in Fire and Ruyi's Royal love in the Palace, both quality stuff, which just goes to show (also, the latter sounds like a light-hearted romp - IT IS NOT, so be warned if you want to watch other c-dramas after you finish this one. Nirvana in Fire is the bomb, tho. That, Princess Weiyoung, Chef Hua and the Sleuth of Ming Dynasty are my faves. Also, Sleuth is based on a gay book which retained its gayness in the live action version. Still not as gay as The Untamed tho).

This episode is one of my favorites. We have the chicken scene, drunken master Lan Zhan, and we have the juniors returning! (they are ducklings) We get Mama/Teacher Wei Ying, and protective strict Dad Lan Zhan. And its the start of the Yi City arc!!!!! So much good in this one.
