"shut up, drama's happening" askjdkdf also i feel blessed about getting two episodes in a row!!!! and it's one of the really gay ones!!! so much happened in it, in contrast with the last one lol idk how into reading meta you are, but there are two that absolutely killed me about this episode (i can't remember if they have spoilers so i won't link them for now) one of them is how 'lifelong confidante' could also have been translated as 'soulmate' (which is what they went for in the novel i think), OR (get this) 'the one who knows the melody to my heart' !! the other one is about YANLI QUEEN OF MY HEART and how defending wwx was not an easy thing at all, like in the episode i think it's felt how she puts her own reputation? respect? on the line facing respected cultivators, just to wholeheartedly defend a 'servant's son' (he's her b r o t h e r and she WILL start stabbing rude people really soon). i just love her so. much.

I love the Yanli scene so much because even though she's the sweetest thing, she's still her mother's daughter and will totally defend those she loves. and the wangxian moments - argh! Wei Ying is so conflicted. Just the sight of Wangji makes him so happy and yet, he knows he needs to keep his distance due to the path he has taken. I love how it's often been described as how their early interactions were Wei Ying chasing after Wangji, and now it's the other way around.

So, 'life long confident' was changed from 'soulmate' or 'one who knows me better than anyone else.' Go a head and get those feels. WWX "I once considered you my soulmate' LZ "I still am" If you read netflixs description of the show, it even says '...two soulmates...'

THIS EPISODE!!!! so much is happening and that “lifelong confidant” confession still gets me everytime I rewatch plus Wangji’s “take a man to Cloud Recesses and hide him there” I can’t deal. It’s too much.

"Fuck this show! Fuck this show! ...thank you so much for watching!" I d i e d lmaooofjjxkdndsiejdjdid THIS IS ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITE EPISODES TOO!!! I can't get over it. And I can't get over the fact that someone included it as one of the "boring" episodes either, it's SO fucking hot, and shippy, and full of development. Wwx's tease of asking for lwj's headband (WHEN IT WOULDN'T EVEN WORK AS A BLINDFOLD CMON MAN!), and so fucking PUBLICLY like that too, I mean the headband thing isn't exactly a secret (fwiw that moment he asked at 7:04 and you stopped? That's called an emotional orgasm and it was felt 'round the shipper world - I'm convinced even people who don't know about the show shiver like someone walked over their grave every time someone watches it) and then his motherfucking badass archery, and then THE SCENE on the mountain: Who do you take me for? And lwj can't even LOOK at him as he asks, and I wont go into the incorrect subs bc I see other people have but wwx just coming out and saying I thought you were my soulmate and lwj's I STILL AM (omfg holy shit halp) and then the whole Yanli thing defending her didi and not taking shit from ANYONE who would hurt or humiliate him, and I'm just djdjxkwdujdnxisjsues I CANNOT I JUST CANNOT, FFS THIS SHOW IS SO BLESSEDLY QUEER CODED AND I AM *HERE* FOR THAT SHIT. *exhales* On a still excited but somewhat calmer note, that line of lwj's at the end -- "I want to bring a man to Cloud Recesses. . . . Bring him back, and hide him there." -- is one of my most very favorite lines, def top four or five (the order of ranking changes, depending on my mood lol), along with "we, of course, came from hell," and "I once took you for my soulmate of this lifetime," so my crops are watered and my skin is clear on this beautiful brand new Sunday. 😍😂 I was SO happy watching this. What a great thing to wake up to. Tysm, as always, for your reactions. They never fail to put a huge smile on my face. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
