Proposed Patreon Changes (2019) (Patreon)

Hey folks, I hope you're doing well today!

About a week ago I made a text post hinting that I was considering making some changes to my patreon, and I've been thinking carefully about them and consulting other friends with patreons, as well as taking into consideration comments I've received over the last year, so in this post, I will be explaining the proposed changes that would begin next year. I really think you'll like most of them!

But before that, I want to briefly talk about the final funding goal I recently added/ a little bit about my finances, (if you're uninterested, you can feel free to skip this next paragraph, no hard feelings!)

I Initially started this patreon because I was having to work outside jobs in order to pay the bills while I continued working on my visual novel, and it was taking a toll on my health and work ethic to continue on that way-- this patreon has been a dramatic improvement for me, and I can't thank you all enough. However, until last month, I had to use a little bit of my savings in order to pay all my bills each month, despite living extremely cheaply. Last month was the first month I didn't have to use any savings, and it took an immense pressure off of me. This last funding goal is roughly the amount where I could be able to actually start saving a little money each month if I continue living cheaply. I don't know if you're aware, but income made through patreon is taxed in the United States at 26% (16% federal taxes + additional 10% income tax), so from the amount it says you all support me with each month, I actually have to subtract $500-$550 just for taxes each month. On top of that I have rent, health insurance, student loan payments, etc, it adds up extremely quickly. It hasn't been easy, but thanks to you all it's been manageable, and again, I can't thank you all enough! <3

Okay, now for the changes. Things which are staying the same will be written in normal text, changes will be written in bold. An explanation will be beneath the changes.

The overall theme for these changes is to give more back to you all as thanks for allowing me to continue following my dream!

Changes affecting all Tiers :

>Exclusive Long-Term supporter art: Patrons who have been consistently supporting me for multiple, consecutive months, will be sent an additional NSFW reward as a thank you for continued support. Right now I'm thinking 3 month increments, with 4 exclusive nsfw pictures a year. These will be sent REGARDLESS of support tier, as they are more of a thank you for *consistent* support rather than the amount you're able to support me with.

>More process art per month: I'm going to try to post more sketches, lineart, and WIPs per month.

>The 6th monthly illustration (if funding goal is reached): A couple months ago I made the "non-human art poll", where I asked if you all would be okay with me drawing a "humanoid" rather than strictly "human" picture from time to time. I think I was a little vague in my initial description, this nsfw picture would have human genitalia only (I don't like non-human genitalia) and could be a fantasy creature, alien, robot, something anthro, etc. You all voted that you did not want one of the current rewards being replaced by something like this, so I'm adding it in its own category, but it does still have to be unlocked with funding.

$1 Tier Changes :

>Access to monthly patreon content (one variation)

The description for this tier has always been *one variation*, but I haven't been consistent with this with regard to the randomizer pinups, where I have always posted both versions. In 2019, I will be following through with the tier description and only post one version. In situations where I only do one version which is nsfw, as was the case with the Cullen pinup a few months back, the $1 tier will still get the nsfw version, but otherwise, I will only be posting the SFW high res version for the $1 tier. Again, this change won't take place until January.

$1 Tier patrons will also have access to all "process art" ie: sketches and WIPs for pictures that will eventually be cleaned up and colored.

$3 Tier Changes :

>Access to monthly patreon content (all variations)

This tier is staying the same! I like where it's currently at.

$5 Tier Changes :

>Access to monthly patreon content (all variations)

>Ability to submit a character suggestion for bonus pinup

>You may suggest a non-human character suggestion for bonus pinups: Based on feedback from the "non-human art poll", a vast majority of patrons voted that they would be okay with seeing material like this. To reiterate, nsfw art would not depict non-human genitalia.

>Voting on the subject for one of the $3 illustrations: One of the $3 illustrations will now be decided by a poll where I will offer a few of the ideas I have for one of the illustrations, and allow $5 patrons to vote on which will be completed. The other $3 illustration will still be my choice.

>Randomizer sketches: If you suggest a character for the randomizer pinups, your patreon name will be added to another RNG list, one person will be chosen per month to get a sketch of your choice (the same guidelines of the randomizer pinup apply to this sketch, **except** this sketch can be a person of any gender). This is being added both to encourage more people to suggest characters (only 25-30% of $5 patrons suggest character) and because I want to practice sketching!

$5+ Changes :

>An additional randomizer pinup vote for each additional $5 of support, up to 4 votes a month.

Okay! That sure was a long post, haha, but I wanted to be clear and direct with all of my intended changes. I hope these make sense and feel fair to you all. A lot of people were worried that I might increase the price ranges for the tiers, but I am not interested in doing that. I made this patreon to get support for my work, and I would rather have a lot of people giving me just a little rather than asking for a lot from you all.
