I figure the heat had the dual purpose of also cauterising the injury

So he would gently melt it down to the leg first and then would go much harder and hotter through

Because theyre on a very tight time frame because Noct isnt doing so hot either

Ignis is ready with an elixir when the time comes

Because he can't carry both of them and they need to GO when he's freed

So Noct is gonna have to be able to go right away
