So Latt messaged me:

"I couldn’t leave well enough alone and decided his pose should be more dynamic (rework2). I’m having a hard time with the anatomy. Should I just move on to something different with this idea? Thank youuu 😅"

My response:

Okay so first off, theyre all lovely in their own way but they show a lovely progression in the dynamic.

I love the character design with the long braid - theres something very mystical about him and he's holding the necklace 'noctlace' my brain supplied.

It makes me very curious about what the story is here.

In the rework, honestly you have the basics spot it - its just with the foreshortening we're going to see less of the faraway side. With the traps being lowered it gives a kind of coquettish confident feeling. I also went and stood in front of a mirror and lifted my shoulders to see how it looked. Its natural for the other side to drop to accommodate the raised one.

The hand could be a smidgeon larger. I also like the new hand position - you're just making your life difficult but it adds to that coy feeling.

In the initial sketch just a note on hte head, the features would be a little lower and the head a little smaller too if you imagine that the shoulders are 3 heads wide...i think. All these measurements D':

Honestly tho it's looking great and I think your want to make it more dynamic shows so much growth as an artist. The redlining ive done is more for me to get a feet for the anatomy but honestly there isnt a huge amount of change to be made!

Show me as you go 8D

And thats it~

Honestly with personal styles art is often subjective and what I might personally change might be something someone else really appreciates.

TLDR You do you
