Imagine a situation where at first

they're literally in LOVE with this child they adopt

He's absolutely perfect and wonderful

So cute

And Prompto never does anything ot make them dislike him

but it's their friends, their colleagues

looking down on them for having a Niff under their roof

always being stared at in the streets

So they start to resent

But they know it's not his fault, and he's such a good kid

Imagine if, to keep up with the joneses

When their friends are badmouthing Prompto

They're like 'oh...yeah...totally D:'

And go home and theyre like 'heeeyy kiddo'

he's like 'can we go see this movie??'

'ahh...maybe when it comes out on dvd??

we'll get you that game you wanted

'want to come with me to the park to take photos?'

'uhhh...i've some work to do - but please show me when you get home'

Thats why they take work out of Insomnia

and they love him

but they dont really love the attention he draws to them

so it gets to a point where they wont be seen outside with him

but in the house theyre loving parents

maybe the rare times they go out with him theyre colder

detached

Mom says she's goign to do some shopping, Prompto is like 'oh I'll come with you'

'No honey, it's fine'

That is so hard to explain to Noctis, Ignis and Gladio

They love him, he knows they do

They'd just rather he walked a few steps behind them in public

And they don't introduce him as their son anymore

like really nice phonecalls when theyre away

Buys him all the things

he emails them his photos

He overhears them talking ot their friends one time, but never mentions it.

Maybe he asks them if theres a way he could help - is there anything he could change that might work.
