They grabbed him purely based on looks seeing as he and the others are in disguises. Its also a point where their weapons are jammed so he's probably going to be asking for a bit more hand to hand combat from the boys. 

If they'd actually whisked him away I imagine they would be in for a rude awakening as soon as Noct left Lestallum and the jamming device.
