Man im so happy you're watching this, its so hard to get people to even want to give it a chance but I try to sing its praises and get more people to give it a chance because its quality is just on another level its got such a masterclass way of storytelling and visuals. The acting to is so fucking good and underrated its an actual crime it got no emmy nominations in its entire run, i will never not be salty about thats when it was better than like 99% of the shows airing at the time..like glee got like 15 emmy noms in its entire run and GOT final season got a bunch of nominations but Hannibal got none..wtf? anyway happy you gave it a chance, its my favorite show and if i can get just one person to try it im happy! :)

Okay, going to try and remember everything I wanted to say. First, the cast--you're right, they're all absolutely amazing. Mason's actor though is the one I want to mention this time. I've only seen him in this and one other thing, but he is absolutely phenomenal. The other thing I've seen him in is a movie called "Funny Games"--the English remake (it was originally Austrian but the director did a shot for shot remake in English and this is the version I saw starring Mason's actor. It's called "Funny Games", but might just be one of the most fucked up movies I've ever seen so if you like things like that, I would highly recommend checking that movie out, but as I said, it is FUCKED up--anyway, he was AMAZING in that. Like absolutely outstanding. His actor is good at these creepy roles, truly) On that note, I also really love morally gray stories (corruption arcs being my favorite, rather than redemption arcs). Things that deal with heavy plot and have you liking characters that you shouldn't like. On that note, there is a show I want to recommend. It's only 9 episodes, it's a Korean drama that's available on Netflix and is originally based on a webcomic. It's called Strangers From Hell and it is very Hannibal-esque and is also another Top 5 favorite series of all time. It's short, but brilliant, and anyone who likes Hannibal would really enjoy Strangers From Hell. I loved seeing you lose your faith in Will and then cheer when it turned out you were wrong not to have faith in him, lmaooo I do think Will killing Freddie here, unlike with Randall (or even that social worker from before) would have felt odd and out of place. I also really enjoy how they kinda removed Jack from this episode (not fully ofc) so that they could hound in Alana's doubt over Will and Hannibal because Jack knows what's going on the entire time, clearly. I'm not sure whose body that was, maybe someone donated to science. They probably just got an xray of Freddie's teeth I'm assuming and slid them in there... all as a little show for Hannibal. Yes, Mason drinks children's tears. This is actually from one of the books. He probably did worse in the books but Bryan did tone some things down in the show (for instance, the exclusion of sexual assault. He completely made it just not a thing in the show at all which I think is REALLY amazing. So many shows just make it a casual part of murders, but these murders are all about the murders themselves. Even in s1 ep1 when Jack pointed out how the girl "died a virgin. she stayed that way" Will said he'd not "dishonor" them like that. Idk its just one of those Hannibal facts that I really appreciate) There are more things in this ep I can't talk about now but hope I'll remember later on down the road. I should prob jot notes down but I'm too lazy to do that lmao, but as you said you're interested in fan theories, you'll probably eventually see them all anyway (tumblr is the best place for fan theories. during the Supernatural/Doctor Who/Sherlock era of tumblr, our little but loud Hannibal fandom was right there in the corner being active af so there's TONS available) I unfortunately can't remember the questions you had and I can't go through the last ep rn (maybe I really should take down notes) but there is ONE thing I do remember and I CAN answer because it's not something that is ever disclosed or talked about in the show and is only something we know through verification from the actors and Bryan (or it could just be fan theories but fan theories are usually pretty... spot on in this fandom) What was Hannibal and Will eating if it wasn't Freddie? Well, it was human. It was Randall Tier. Will likely knew he needed to make a big freaking show of just how far he's come and what better way to do that then partake (willingly) in Hannibal's favorite meal? So he had Randall in the freezer (and I doubt he told Jack about this part in all honesty). So Will literally took meat from Randall and passed it off as Freddie. Human meat isn't something you can likely fake to a person who regularly consumes it after all. Which is just... wow. Will is *determined* and I kinda applaud him for that. Like that's gotta take... a strong stomach, that's for sure lmao

the fact that Hannibal has a cult following and critical acclaim, an active fanbase, a dedicated cast and crew, articles written about it to this day nearly 7 years after it was cancelled and didn't get the awards it deserves or the renewal that it deserves (in this time when EVERYTHING except Hannibal is being renewed like ??? WHAT) makes me soooo mad
