EEEEEKDSJAFNKLADFNA dont worry, like the donghua it starts as nonsense but gets pretty easy to get once you watch more and yes the action id say is the weakest aspect but by far the story hits me so much more and I love the two main actors!

WuXian Suibian

FYI, in China they dub over the actors voices because of the large number of dialects in China. The actor for Lan Wangji is Wang Yibo but the voice dub for LWJ is Bian Jiang who also voiced LWJ in the Donghua. The actor for Wei Wuxian was Xian Zhan but the voice dub was Lu Zhixing, who also voices WWX in the Audio Drama. Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan were Chinese Pop idols before earning their roles in the Untamed. Many of the fans for the source material did not think they'd do a good job playing their characters. In real life their personalities are opposite of their characters.

I found the first two episodes difficult to get into at first, and at first I stopped halfway through the first episode. But I'm glad I gave it another try, once you get attuned to it it's a great experience. :) Looking forward to these reactions!

You mentioned The Normies and yes, they indeed reacted to the first episode, but I need to mention that unlike you who are willing to watch it because you loved the donghua and want to see more, for them it was a Patreon request, so someone paid them to give it a try and all they did the entire episode was make fun of literally everything. People weren't upset that they didn't like the show, they were upset because the reactors disrespected the culture and couldn't be serious, pay attention and genuinely try to get into it for one second. Everything was just "funny" and in the end the episode was trash to them, they couldn't understand why the show was so popular. That being said, it's okay if you find something unpleasant, it's okay to not like certain things, the special effects, the acting, the changes maybe, but it's not okay to be disrespectful and that's why people were so mad in their comments. The Normies obviously hadn't been exposed to Chinese cinema until then, but I personally think that's not an excuse. They knew they were going to watch a Chinese drama so of course it wouldn't be "Hollywoody". Again, someone paid them to react to the first episode of a show that person loved and wanted to share. The least they could do was... try, just try. Read the subtitles, maybe enjoy Wei Wuxian's shenanigans in Mo Xuanyu's body and try. But they didn't. It was really painful to watch and I can't even imagine how their patron must have felt. So yeah, please be honest about your experience with this show, don't be afraid of hate comments or anything like that. As long as you respect the Chinese culture, people will understand. No one had a good start with The Untamed anyway. We all suffered in the first two episodes so it's understandable. As for my personal experience with this show, I actually tried the donghua first and I got confused, then tried the first five or so episodes of the drama and understood everything, then went back to the donghua and understood everything. The Untamed features some changes I personally don't agree with, other changes I do agree with and some of the most gorgeous landscapes, sets and costumes I've ever seen in tv-shows. I've actually never managed to finish the drama, I stopped somewhere around episode 23, but... I literally bingewatched it up until that point. I stopped only because I went to watch the donghua, read the novel and got caught in other things. I have no doubt that you will enjoy it once you really get into it. I've seen some scenes adapted directly from the novel that weren't in the donghua that I absolutely loved. Despite the changes, I think the drama really does adapt more of the novel, especially the last arc and the last confrontation which was so rushed in the donghua it kinda hurt. But oh well, it was still very fun to watch. Anyway, it looks like I wrote a novel myself in your comments. I'm sorry about that. I hope you'll have fun with this one. ^^ Have a great day!
