It's probably gonna take a bit though, because I still need to figure out how to make the season 2 game detect and load saves from season 1 so that the players can keep their choices or try for a while and not figure it out and ultimately drop the idea and treat this as an update to the original game, which is not ideal cuz it's getting too big at this point... I don't think anyone will appreciate having to download 20+ GB to get the game a few chapters into season 2... Anyways, I'm just keeping you guys up to date on where I am development-wise. Of course, after coding the chapter (potentially with a new stats menu or at least an updated one maybe?), I'll have to add sound effects and music, test it a bit and make sure it looks okay, and then comes release.

Another idea I've seen other AVNs use is a short set of questions that determine where you want s2 to start: 1. Did you choose yes to this major decision? 2. Did you save the people from the burning building? Something like that where you can set the initial state of your branching variables. But it might be too difficult to get that within a few short questions.

I'm currently asking someone for help about that on discord because I don't really know what I'm doing. But it looks like they'll help me figure it out soon. I'm coding the dialogue lines with the renders at the moment, because it's not dependent on the rest of the code (mostly).
