Oh damn they really went super fast to this fight with Sophia. Next episode will be fire, might be end of season too or at least part 1. Makoto didn't give any F's for a conniving scheming little b..ch. Your analysis before this episode was pretty good about what happened to Tomoe. Can see you excited from this episode, with this fight the story starts to progress pretty well in a real main plot. Too bad if they end this season with episode 12.

So in terms of details: Novels > Mangas > Animes is pretty much a given. I still think the Manga and Anime did well as adaptations despite cutting out a lot of details. The novels definitely gives you a lot more context, but they simply do not have enough run time in a single cour to cover everything.

My favourite parts about the killing scene: 1. The author deliberately brought back the whole human voice isn't legible to Makoto unless he actively translates. He calls something he wanted so much as "ear-grating" now. 2. His emotional outburst wasn't immediate and was more realistic. It took time for the impact to sink in, which is a more believable response to shocking events. 3. Makoto had a proportionate response to the situation. He only killed those who are responsible and started taking steps to prevent future accidents.

I feel the details are fine in the anime. I just want more characterization for Makoto. Everything else has been fine in my eyes and I assume we will get more on him in the future.

I hope this doesn't end up like No game No life, with such a good story getting going and just ends. This was my favorite episode of anime this season(that i've seen of course)
